Ooo. Do want those nendoroids. 2100 yen is affordable. Never realized until now that Hanekawa has a different tie from Senjougahara.

Besides from BD/DVD and Nendoroid Petit, I want to ask that are there any other merchandise which already released or plan to release in the future? Judging from the popularity of the series, Bakemonogatari has awfully few merchandise. No full figure for any character, no official artbook or any stationery that Hitagi used. Just look at K-On! I really can't count how many Mio figures now.

WTH! I want to hug Hitagi pillow cover!

I remember back in the day when I was wondering why there aren't any K-ON! figures yet. Now they just keep on coming. xD

I really really hope an official artbook comes out. Vofan is pretty friggin amazing.

Last weeks sales

Bluray
*2, 2,090 43,409 Bakemonogatari vol.3 Limited Edition

DVD
16, 1,710 *20,137 Bakemonogatari vol.3 Limited Edition

Anime sales generally are very front loaded from what I've seen and with stock issues finally fixed I guess this is going to be the way the rest of the series sells from now on.

And the total sales figures for BR Vol 1 and 2 as of last week as well.

*5, **,638 46,273 Bakemonogatari vol.2 Limited Edition
*6, **,589 50,175 Bakemonogatari vol.1 Limited Edition

What never fail to amaze me is how hitagi crab still selling quite well after 10 week (to bad the previous week BR chart was loaded and it didn't make it for, probably, few copies).

Let's see... Hitagi Crab is now over 50K for Blueray version.

Maybe they plan to release 14 and 15 on BR/DVD (Vol.7) instead? That's actually not a bad idea 'cause that way it could give them more time for a better-finished product ...tabun.

TBH I'd rather Shaft take their time than rushing for the dealine and wind up with a half-a$$ed episode a la Nadeko Snake part 2.

Nothing on 14 yet...but the 4th DVD has been shipped.

Actually, take that back. From akiba blog:

1月中完成予定で進行中 => They're aiming to finish the 4th ep of Tsubasa Cat within the month.

The blu-ray for Nadeko Snake's arc (eps 9-10) is out now, and I watched the TV and BD versions side by side in sync to see what's new. Turns out everything is new.

I'm not entirely sure of the reason -- maybe ep 9 was outsourced to another studio due to scheduling issues -- but ep 9 is now a whole new beast. The animation has been remade from scratch, with nearly every single frame drawn in a new style. It runs off the same audio and storyboard, but it's clear that there were different people holding the pen. Amusingly, I can't really say if it was for the better, because the TV broadcast had more detail, but the new version is more in line with the rest of the series, I guess.

Ep 10 retains most of its original animation, but where the TV version was stuck with ten second long shots of empty backgrounds, the BD edition actually has properly animated characters moving around. This makes for a completely new experience, and I was surprised to find out I could be moved to feel such intensity in the concluding battle between Araragi and the snake, now that I could finally "see" it. Admittedly, they may have gone somewhat overboard on the Nadeko shots.

I recommend anyone who liked the show to rewatch ep 10 on blu-ray, because it is that much better now. Just be warned that tiny added clips here and there (of the second long variety) will have made old subtitles useless due to timing issues, so someone will have to fix that first.

Did they just move the lines around or did they actually add new lines?

He's saying that the additional scenes and length of scenes means the timing of the subtitles no longer matches the dialog. Someone will have to retime the episode--- but that's something that often has to be done anyway when subbing the DVD version.
