(L) Rinne no Lagrange: Flower declaration of your heart (seasons 1 & 2)

Things are getting seriously out of control.
All 3 of them fighting the same black mecha.
Seems like all 3 of them were doing it in separate dimensions.
Dizelmine was really naive and gullible to fall into that guy's trap.
Once again history is repeating itself.
Madoka's mind trip to Dizelmine & Villagiulio's youth was interesting.
Girl's reunion near the world's end was kinda nice & relaxing.
When they're together anything seems possible.

I think Youko is that OP, after all she was the role model for Madoka to look up to.

I think it just has to do with the fact that Moid is male and Youko is female, so he automatically loses. That's been a pretty consistent theme in this series.

Lol, while big evil robot is all absorbing that negative energy, getting bigger, powering up to destroy the world, lets first have a quiet burger picnic by the beach. Very surreal, yes, but it does work for Madoka and friends at the end.

I suggest we call that "Unlimited Beam Saber Works."

There were some good moments in the latest episode but overall I'm feeling a bit disappointed. Hopefully we'll get a strong finale next week. This show could use a strong finish. I thought it might be a contender for my top show of the year but right now things aren't looking so good for it.

Pretty solid climatic ending. Nicely intense and theatrical while still staying very true to the core ideas and characterization already established in this show. I never had that much doubt that Madoka, Lan, and Muginami would earn their happy ending, and now I have no doubt at all about it.

However, the final fate of Dizelmine seems questionable to me. It's very hard to see how this narrative could make him continuing on as King seem acceptable (Dizelmine has kind of crossed a moral event horizon here, imo). OTOH, they did give a slight touch of redemption to Dizelmine this episode in that one flashback scene that Madoka witnessed.

So here's my guess (and my hope) as to how Lagrange ends

Spoiler for Pure Speculation:

Dizelmine kind of/sort of "dies" as Madoka, Lan, and Muginami have to destroy his mech. However, the anime strongly suggests that Dizelmine's soul or essence now returns to wherever it is that Yurikano is at, for the two to exist in blissful love together forevermore.

Due to Dizelmine's death, Lan is made Queen of her people.

Space Tiger lives on, but is put on the shelf for an extended stay due to severe injuries. He asks Muginami to rule his people while he heals (or he might just hand the throne entirely over to her).

This creates a dynamic between Lan and Muginami that's much the same as what once existed between Dizelmine and Space Tiger. The parallels here would be intentional, and would add some thematic strength to the ending I think.

But one key final note - Madoka becomes a special Earth diplomat/Ambassador to both Lan's people and Muginami's people. That's her official role. Her unofficial role is to ensure that Lan and Muginami don't fall into making the same mistakes that their older brothers did. And it ends on the happy note of the three friends still getting to frequently see each other due to their newfound roles in life.

Too much of a happy, neat and tidy end? Maybe, but I'd honestly like to see it.

While part of me is sceptical you could be on to something here.

Regardless of how its achieved, I really want to see a strong and fitting ending for this show. My impression of this episode has improved after watching it a second time (this seems to happen quite a bit with this show -hopefully I'm not just convincing myself that one of my favorite recent shows hasn't lost it) but the ending is still going to have its work cut out for it wrapping everything up in a satisfactory fashion.

For me this show is always enjoyable but never great.

I didn't like the reuse of Dizelmine as a main antagonist after his conflict with Villagiulio was finally cleared. I'd rather see Moid fight the girls in his mecha as the true final villain. Instead he just stands over a tower and watches and he's easily beaten by Madoka's oneechan. Also, his motivation for openng the Rinne does't make a lick of sense.

Honestly, my impression of Moid is that he's a bit Joker-esque.

"Some people just want to watch the world burn."

For good or for ill, that seems to sum up Moid's motivations too.


I'll admit that I also would have preferred Moid as the final big bad, but if my speculations are correct, maybe its better to sweep away Dizelmine completely. Now, if Dizelmine ends up being saved, forgiven, and continuing on as King, I'll facepalm pretty hard at that...

Except that he doesn't have a sliver of the Joker's charisma.

This is a feel-good series. No way they are going to let Dizel die. Heck, I thought that Villagiulio was a goner last ep, and he survived.
Dizel has the excuse that he was mind-controlled by the Rinne. They will forgive him, I am willing to bet on it.

I wouldn't put it past them to actually do something like that. Rinne no Lagrange is the kind of show that isn't afraid to go for the super sugar coated solution after all.
