Funny you should say this. My uncle just got back from a holiday at the US Naval base in Japan and the US/Chinese mind games there are apparently at an all time high.

I was being sarcastic. Since both sides want a fight, let them have it. Less human beings means less competition for resources.

City councilman epically resigns with a letter written in Klingon:

"Here's how to make your resignation as a city councilman as memorable as
possible (non-shameful division): write your whole resignation letter in Klingon.
Trekkie and former city councilman David Waddell did exactly that, telling his mayor
"chaq DaHjaj QaQ jaj paj", which apparently means 'perhaps today is a good day to
resign.'

Waddell, who was a city councilman of Indian Trail, North Carolina and was
frustrated with runaway development and had questions about the mishandling of
public record requests, told the Charlotte Observer that people didn't really know
what to think of him so he decided to have "one last laugh" at the board. Yeah, I
think he did."

Human body parts 'fall from sky' in Saudi:

"Human body parts fell from the sky in the Saudi city of Jeddah on Sunday, with
police saying they could be the remains of someone trapped in an aircraft's
undercarriage bay."

"In a desperate attempt to cross borders, some people at poorly monitored airports
climb inside the bays housing aircraft landing gear.

Most of them freeze to death once the aircraft reach cruising altitude, but some
survive."

China-Japan 'Voldemort' attacks up ante in propaganda war

Quote:
In an op-ed in Britain's Daily Telegraph, the Chinese ambassador to the United Kingdom, Liu Xiaoming, wrote last week: "If militarism is like the haunting Voldemort of Japan, the Yasukuni shrine in Tokyo is a kind of horcrux, representing the darkest parts of that nation's soul."

.....................

Liu's commentary was followed by another published on Sunday by his Japanese counterpart, Keiichi Hayashi, in the same newspaper, headlined: "China risks becoming Asia's Voldemort".

The Global Times, an influential tabloid owned by the Chinese Communist Party mouthpiece, the People's Daily, said the "Sino-Japanese war of public opinion is facing an escalation on all fronts".
Obligatory :

Some dude had to be rescued from a washing machine. Naked.

Quote:
A man who climbed naked into a washing machine to surprise his girlfriend became stuck and needed to be rescued by emergency services, according to the Shepparton News.

Emergency services took 20 minutes to free the naked man. He was prompted to climb into the top-loading washing machine during "a game of hide-and-seek", it said.
He also said that being pulled out felt like being (re)born. o_o

Hilarious thing is that they called the emergency services because all his mates are firefighters, so they came around and laughed at him, before rescuing him (so he said on an interview on The Project the other night).
