Haven't see the episode, but allow me to say this:

The range of feelings that the phrase "Daisuki" covers makes it obvious that there would be differences in understanding.

well, she's in love, and her feelings isn't a common thing (girl x girl). thus, she has always been with Tamako so i can understand it. she still is possessive though.

Oh I have no doubt that she knows that Tamako's love is of the BFF kind and not like hers. I'll admit that regardless of what she thought, letting him have his chance is somewhat commendable.

Anyway at the end of the day this is a cutesy slice-of-life with little weight (a lot less than Dera's anyway lol) so it's not like I really think KyoAni is aiming for any of the characters to be a conniving backstabbing bitch or whatever. I'm sure all the antics from this week's ep is just meant to be taken as nothing more than adorable innocent silly love hijinks etc. ┐(‘～`；)┌

The 'best' way to look at Midori's reason at the end of the episode is that she realized that Mochizou is just as important to Tamako, and that there's no real reason why she should separate them.

That would shine Midori in a more positive light.

The last thumbs-up thing was rather funny, for some subtle reasons...

It seems that Tamako and friend thinks Mochizou and Midori got 'closer' during the trip, and thus the thumbs-up saying they were supporting his quest. Now the interesting question is if the shared scent Dera detected was their shared 'crush' for Tamako, or something budding between the two of them.

I say 'crush', cause considering one being childhood friend and the other being a girl who's trying to run away from all the attention she's getting from both boys and girls, it's hard to say if we're dealing with real love.

Episode.5

Now that is the slice of life and things I wanted to see in Tamako Market. Derra being really a good adviser here and as usual he's the comic relief of the show. A little misunderstanding in Tamako's part since there is alot of Midori and Mochizou air time here. Also a swimsuit episode is a big plus on my account.

I knew my prediction was right! Tamako x Midori x Mochizou.

Excellent episode I was really entertained here. 9/10

Haha no. As much as I'd like to yuri ship I still am a very big fan of normal relationships. So far Midori got shotdown in the same way.

I mean she did say that, but the context is not there. So that explains why Midori didn't feel that flustered or what since it wasn't the most solid answer you would actually look for.

Anyway, sparks were flying. Mochizou vs Midori was really entertaining. I just love how Dera got blocked by Midori.

Still though, the best part of the show, Dera subtly trying to persuade that going for Shiori was pointless and that the flower shop trap is a girl.

PRICELESS!

BTW Ota handled this episode pretty well. Not to mention very entertaining script by Hanada. Animation wise, a quite so-so episode. Nothing stood out. No great water animation ala Hyouka 11.5 and no dazzling fireworks animation like K-ON S1. Things were still in tact though so I have no qualms.

So far I'm more entertained by Hanada's script as compared to the ones handle by Yoshida. His comedic scripts for Chuunibyou are surely showing up here.

Maybe, people are mistaking Midori's "lesbianism" to that of a best friend protecting her friend from heartbreak or awkward relationships. Granted, that's none of her business.

Yet, I still can't forget that look on Midori's face a couple of episodes ago. So, y'know what? Midori could be dyking it for Tamako...

Wow someone relatively new to KyoAni's script collaboration. Michiko Yokote hasn't worked with any of KyoAni's past works at all.

Anyway.. That line up is stellar... Kawanami - Utsumi - Takemoto then Kigami!? I'm so eager to see them!

Also yaay. Kawanami episode is next. Please be a comedy ep~
