Anyway, like I said before, the fact that their relationship is vague is hardly subject to opinion. The simple fact that their relationship is discussed means that it is not sure. If their relationship was sure, it would be a fact and not up for debate. Since it isn't, its vague.

To me, its quite clear that this will end up in a Negi/Asuna ending. A combination of the First Girl Wins and First Kiss happening quite rapidly. There was also the Not A Date with Asuna, and lets not mention the constant He's Not My Boyfriend!-like yells Asuna keeps throwing around, and the Hands on Aproach Negi needs to explain things to Asuna (like the vision to his past). Asuna also used a variation of The Glomp in the latest chapters. One could also argue that they are subject to the Battle Couple trope, especially with the whole 'training with Eva' arc.

First "plot" kiss - yes. First "real" kiss is Nodoka... And so on at least on half of other tropes... You can scatch Anya, she occupies the Childhood Friend branche (whether good or bad remains to be seen, but Childhood Friends generally end up unlucky when introduced late). His elder sister has such a small role I think it's safe to say we can rule her out as well (would be a major plottwist though ) which leaves us with Asuna and Konoka, and the one whom he first spoke to was Asuna.

Actually, its only more recently that Asuna became a serious contestant. With Takamichi's rejection all the subtext suddenly became more then subtext, which ties into Ken's words.

though Kotaro... XD I'd pay gold to see Kotaru and Negi form a Pactio!

Ehmmm... They were shipped by fandom from the start because Asuna ~= Naru from Love Hina... And Akamatsu clearly stated by word and deed that the last thing he want is second LH. + he played with "harem" and "shounen" stereotypes more than once - so i wouldn't drop any of girls until the end.

PS. I actually really hope that Negi will "play Tenchi" and get at least two... Nodoka has a right mind in this one.

PPS. With my favorite shipping in Nanoha as "Yuno + Nanoha AND Fate" and Tenchi OVA as one of my favorite series... is something wrong with me?

Oh, I'm not dropping them completely, but to me the course the manga is steering at seems more and more Negi/Asuna to me. Not the least of which the amount of links that exist between the two. But then, I love deep links between characters.

And there is nothing wrong with NanoYuuFate. But NanoYuuFateHaya is better.

So far Negi's harem has Nodoka, Yue and Chachamaru for sure. Asuna in my opinion as well, and Chisame and Anya are homing in too.

or was he saying the truth which seems very unlikely ? .
in any case I am disappointed that there was no revelation on Asuna >_>

I can actually still see this happening. Even if he does end up with one, the class will still jump him (Anya included, trying to keep them away).

Well, maybe Akamatsu wants to save it for a later time. their problem is Fate at the moment. But Fate seemed interested in Asuna during the destruction of the gate, so more may be revealed later. We probably have a long way to go still. And I always thought that Fate seems to be working for someone else, who has yet to be revealed.

Did Fate say something about rescuing the world was his purpose in this chapter. Or was my reading wrong?

So we have some newcomers too. I hope we see some crazy battles, especially with everyone's new abilities. I hope not much time is spent on the tournament. Fate might send some to enter, but I hope it's short-lived and we get some advancement into the story.

But you're forgetting one thing: He's 10 years old. The entire point of many of those situations is that any interaction between any other characters in any other manga instantly spells out "love interest", but since Negi's still completely pre-pubescent all of said stereotypes are thrown out the window.

2. Love Hina was generic run of the mill harem that ended like all harem do...so yea Negima stands apart form the rest...
