Goth chick ftw. Are tight pants in right now? Usually you see baggy or wide pants in anime. This is new. I hope the bearded guy also has outfit changes, cause it'd be sad for him to be walking in that all day lol. The glasses girl and school girl are cute. Still not a fan of the main characters design. The hair accessory is unnecessary.
I wonder if they'll be updating the site with animation clips like they did with Stranja. That'd be awesome. |

Yeah, I'm excited for another Xam'd/E7 BONES fantasy epic. They've had good characters and incredibly imagined worlds, and it's hard to resist imagining how amazing the action could look given that this is being done as a series of movies and all the extra time that'll give them.

The special DVD comes as a set if you pay more for the movie ticket to get it. Alternatively, you can just buy this month's Newtype to get it, which is what I'm doing. The DVD contains the latest trailers, design materials, interviews with the staff, etc. It's 30 minutes long.

I'm kind of hoping (pretty much expecting actually) for this to be a huge improvement over Star Driver in terms of actually getting to know a bit about the characters in-depth and the overall structure being contiguous in terms of plot developments.
Though if they do end up creating another Star Driver it'll probably be the last time I include BONES on my list of top tier/favourite studios. |

Why would Star Driver have anything to do with Towa no Quon (or No. 6)? As far as I can see none of the productions share any key staff. You can blame the writer and director for Star Driver's faults but they have no bearing on anything else.
Towa no Quon in particular is a very personal labour of love project for the studio, with absolutely no outside considerations whatsoever. It's entirely possible it will have no characterisation whatsoever, or it could have well developed characters - but it's unlikely to be "another Star Driver". Technically it doesn't even really have mecha in it. |

Star Driver is from BONES C Studio. They are the populist studio in the BONES structure. Originally formed to adapt FMA, they later spearheaded various attempts to create what are basically cash-in shows like Darker than BLACK, Soul Eater, and Star Driver.
Towa no Quon is from BONES B Studio. They are the original mecha-centric studio in the BONES structure, who create labors of love like RahXephon, Eureka Seven, Xam'd, and Sword of the Stranger. Sometimes they don't really nail it, like in the case of Xam'd, but you can always feel the passion in their works. |
