Xenosaga the Animation.

Hmm, I'm a fan of the game, and in the official site it's said it'll aired in January. I wonder what they're gonna do it? Knowing TOEI's doing the animation I hope they dont butchered it like they did with One Piece.

Personally I'm really looking forward to seeing the anime also. I wonder if they are going to copy the CGs and then storyboard out the stuff that happens in the middle. It should make a great anime if they do it right. Great characters, deep and fascinating plot. Cool battles.

On the other hand it might turn out like Star Ocean.... Ug. I wouldn't have imagined that game would turn out so bad even if it wasn't as blatantly cinematic as Xenosaga.

This really pisses me off. Are you so clueless that you are simply incapable of figuring it out for yourself?

If you look at the top of the forum you'll see the word search. Click on that and type in the word "Xenosaga" and this thread pops right up. It takes less time for you to find the proper thread than it takes for me to merge the threads since I had to run the same d*** search in order to find the thread to merge it into. Passing off the work to me isn't okay.

Xenosaga the Animation

My apology if this had been posted beforehand.

I bought the game a year ago and I haven't even open it yet :/ . Understandablely I am less than incline to watch the animation as it would render the $50~ game useless.

Anyway, how it is. Does it seem worth watching?

I'm disappointed to see Yuki Kajiura isn't listed as doing the music for the series

Ick, what the other have said are right. The animation doesn't look that good. They basicially used the same character animation style in the first game but turned 2D which really doesn't look right. Imo, they should of used the animation from the 2nd game to do the anime.

imagine the unimaginable, after 13 episodes of Episode I character design, suddenly at episode 14 it turns into Episode II character design!!!

I wish they had animated Xenogear not Xenosaga. *sigh* Like most, the animated Xenosaga look crappy. Btw, the xenosaga game wasn't that impressive to really look forward to the anime, imo.

Hmm... I never play the game before.
However I did seen the game before and knew a little about it. After watching the trailer, i must say it does look fugly to compare with the game ones. Well, though the artwork might not turn out to be that great i hope the story plot is OK...

P?S: The H-manga is nice though and better ^^ compare with the animation.

What? Are you crazy? The game was a masterpiece. Sure the gameplay looked dumb but the story itself really shines. Not to mention the game sold three times more in the US than it did in Japan.

Oh, and thank god that Kajiura isn't doing the music for this show. Her music in Xenosaga II was plain uber crap (Those who've played the game'll know what I mean).

But hey, then again it's TOEI, maybe they'll eventually butchered it, who knows?

well, the Xenosaga games are nice, but nowhere as great as Xenogears. Of course maybe it's because the story is not complete yet, but I'd rather trust a great complete story than a so-far so-so incomplete story that promises to be great in the future when it's completed.

Also IMHO Xenosaga's story is a bit over-pretentious and using too many cheesy pseudo-technical terms...

Still nice games, but I'd not call it a masterpiece, at least until it can manage to complete the whole thing and prove that it's indeed a great story.

I would call Xenosaga as an interactive movie than a game, but to each its own.

Hmm... I'd rather call games like the Half-Life series as interactive movies... Xenosaga's insane amount of cutscenes are not really interactive

Anybody knows who is doing the character design for this animation? It looks vaguely familiar.

Kosmos has human look in this one, part of which I disagree.

I don't remember where I've got this info from. But I heard it's Nobuteri Yuki, the person who did 'Escaflowne'.

It indeed is Nobuteri Yuki, character designer of Escaflowne: The Movie, Battle Angel, Angel Cop, Heat Guy J, and Space Captain Herlock.

Yeah, Xenosaga is not as great as Xenogear was. I'm just interested in how everyone comes together in the end from Xenosaga to gear.
