I want some manga...

I really, really want some new manga to read, 'cause I'm only reading ongoing monthly ones and the wait's killing me. So, here's what I liked so far:

Fullmetal Alchemist - Incredible characters, story and action. Since it's almost over I want something else to read or else I'll feel... empty The only Shounen I like.
Hellsing - I loved the art, action and gore, as well as most of the characters. The story was decent, too. One of the coolest manga I've read so far.
Kuroshitsuji - Really nice art and story. I like how it's not all Shounen beat-em-up stuff.

So you can say that I'm looking for:
-some level of seriousness
-some action (good but not necessary)
- probably some darker material, but again not necessary
- strong story and characters, an intelligent plot
- gore or violence is okay (since I've been through Hellsing without much problem)
- very little or no sexual content

You can see that there's not much on my read and liked list so far because I'm so picky...

I also don't like Jump Shounen-like manga, with a teenage-main-character-saving-the-world type stuff.

Also, I prefer finished series to ongoing ones.

I'm also planning to read the Darker than Black manga, Monster and also Pandora Hearts.

Any recommendations for me?

Hotel - Short one piece I think

As an advocate of Rosario + Vampire, I highly recommend this one, its a monthly one but season 1 is complete already with 40ish chapters, and season two is up to chapter 23.

It has everything you want.

Majin Tantei Nougami Neuro: It's about a demon called Nougami Neuro who wants to go to the human world for his sort of food called the "mystery"(human evil intent) and he finds a girl who recently lost her father, Yako, and he makes her his servant to become a detective as a cover while he does all the detective work. This manga fits in perfectly; however the art might not suit your tastes, but if you get used to it(it's not really that bad) you'll love the story. As for plot and characters, this one's a winner in my book and tops my list. It's funny, deep and just interesting in it's own way.

Death Note, if you haven't already read it. It fulfills every single one of your requirements. The anime is good, too, but I really like the manga.

[Prince of Chronics]

If you want to try something completely different that has some nice philosophical intropects on life but can be a bit dark at times.. check out What a Wonderful World. It's only two volumes released by Viz in North America.

I just picked up both volumes randomly (because the cover art struck me) at the store the other day and was definitely amazed at the story telling and the art. If you're looking to buy something worth it, this is a good one!
