well, heard it's from some shounen super-ecchi fan-service stuff... Kinda wondering if GAINAX is trying to become the next M.O.E. Last edited by dreamless; 2004-09-15 at 18:22. |

Must have blinked and missed it somewhere between Nadia to MoO because coming from their fan made pedigree they've about slashed and parodied every single anime genre known to man. |

The manga is about some kid who lost his parents and now has inherited this super huge mansion and is looking for maids for hire. He also happens to be an incredible pervert and womanizer, for a kid his age.
Anyway, the main female lead and her sister apparently have run from home, so they decide to take the jobs. Two hot female maids + rich uber-perv+womanizer + various other people and things = He is my Master.

The impression that I have of Gainax in the present is more of the type of studio that's always on the otaku's side, if you know what I mean.
Cool mecha, problematic or nerdy main leads, Gainax bounce and maids...Go figure. |

I'm wondering whether this is another attempt at drawing in some money by doing an anime that isn't hard to pull off in the story department, and by using a "surefire" combination (I use quotation marks because I get the impression, not just from the reactions in this thread, that we're thirsty for originality.)... in other words, a cash cow? Let's hope the only reason for that is to (uh... hopefully, wisely) spend it on a more original, worthy anime.
I'm personally quite disappointed, though. Ah... EDIT: Hm, it's coproduced with SHAFT, just like KonoMini.

The saving grace of shows like this is if it has good comedy. We'll see. I'm not close-minded enough to give a thumbs down to a show I haven't seen yet.
Too bad all we have is a pic--so that isn't really helping much at the moment, I guess. Then again, first impressions matter a lot to me. Last edited by kujoe; 2004-09-16 at 05:36. |
