I guess I should leave my own prediction of the plot of the K-ON! movie plot...
As a wild guess, it would be more of a compilation of the chapters that weren't animated in the regular TV seasons, in the form of various flashbacks- the group gather and reminisce on the days they spent together. Having a brief look again at season 1, there was one sticking point for me: where the heck did Jun come from? (when she was first introduced, we really only knew her first name, and we don't know if she went to the same junior high school, unless that is a safe assumption based on the manga) Since she was a minor character back then, I guess the producers felt that leaving out "how she became good friends with Ui and Azusa" would not have any impact on the general plot. Of course, we also haven't seen many of the other chapters as well, but I'll leave it at that for now... (KyoAni did say the plot was going to be original and set during the group's high school years, so I still have doubts whether this idea is feasible, perhaps if the non-animated chapters are merged into a single plot?)

K-ON! movie eh? err.... its.... great? I guess? well?
Honestly, I feel rather pessimistic about the movie when I watched the latest OVA. And seeing how good season 2 was, I can't help but feel more and more pessimistic. Lets just hope that the movie won't be turned up like what I've thought. |

Movie based on the continuation of Ep27 would be logical since that really came out of left field.
Probably it will be a powered up version of summer vacation at Mugi's beach house. Mugi frantically telephoning dad that she is going commercial and do not need the "Family Jet (A-380)" after seeing the plane with a company logo on the tail as they wait at the airport. |

(Still, kinda worried it might be fake, but the translation between the original and this one is spot on...)

I was seriously worried that I would have to wait until October 2012 to watch the movie in anything other than a camrip, but it seems I might be able to watch in a cinema ^^ so happy. So, so happy. I haven't seen much anime movies in Australian cinemas though...

The movie will most likely be the trip we seem talk about in episode 27. So no new members and no Budokan performance. Heck, we should be lucky if in the stretch of the whole movie, we get one actual performance.

So, I'd not expect Budokan to be mentioned ever again in the anime. And, yeah, this is K-On!, the music has always been (at most) #3 in terms of the show's priorities (after the girls sitting around drinking tea and eating sweets, and the girls acting cute and living the idyllic high school life.) So it follows that the movie will probably have one actual performance in it.
