Yeah... that's awfully expensive. If it was the entire series with the bonus's to accompany it and the drama CD was TLed, I'd think about it.

I'm sure Aniplex America will do a release though.

Yeah, the bonuses seem nice and all, but still hardly justify that ridiculous amount of money for half the series. If it was for the entire thing, I'd consider it, but for 13/25 episodes only, no thanks.

Damn those Japanese releases, why can't they just sell the OST CD and Drama CD separately? The other bonuses are nice, but I don't need those two CD's for a movie collection.

Btw, any idea what 'Nasu's bonus' actually is?

Ditto. For those who have no idea yet, usually speaking, a DVD/BD volume is like 7-9K yens (depending of the series, etc), for only 2 Episodes (if odd number, generally, the first volume will have only 1 episode). That's of course because they make such release quite "prestigious" although "budget" version exist, but the price never goes below 4-5K IIRC.
One would actually expect a price of 7 volumes for F/Z, so roughly 56K yens (assuming the flat out minimum of the price range).

This is also another reason why some 2chan people loathe western fans complaining about their own DVD/BD release price (notable mention: KnK complete BD set), and it isn't really rare for them to reverse import stuff.

Yeah, I have no idea. 1 BD for just 2 episodes? Isn't that wasting so much space or do the Japanese really use all of the 25-50 GB space for the aforementioned 2 episodes?

individual BD release is sort of "variable", since you can find stuff for 4K (like Anohana), but I think the reason behind that is basically the "lack of goods".
BD release price tag are justified by the "prime" value of them, but they never exploit the complete capacity of the BD disc, obviously.

Yeah, that's what pisses me off. At least the US release is more 'reasonable' in managing the BD content. That's why I often buy US releases and just leeching anime BDs that wont have a US version.

Actually the R1 most of time have better quality, of course there is gonna be more "compression" when you packed more stuff on it? that is simple logic.

Btw, you should stop your off-topic talk.

Yes, I understand the simple logic of 'compressing' stuff. Hence my disappointment to the fact that JP release is just wasting great space just as Klashikari told me. He/she said "they never exploit the complete capacity of the BD disc, obviously" so that means they can use 1 25-50 GB BD just to contain 10 GB worth of two episodes (for example), right? So, my assumption is that there'll be no compression issues if the US release add (for example) 2 more episodes, right?

I'm so sorry If my previous and this post is off-topic. I just want to clarify some things. As well as getting little informations of JP anime BD in general and Fate/Zero BD in specific. If my post going too far, then please forgive me.

1) Fate/complete material I Art material
2) Fate/complete material II Character material
3) Fate/complete material III World material
4) Fate/complete material IV Extra material

and..

6) Fate Extra Visual Works

what are the differences in 1 to 4? i'm more of an art fan, don't know japanese at all, which one is better in terms of an actual artbook? i'm not looking into getting one that explains locations / characters.

and..

what are the differences between 5) and 6)

i appreciate anyone who can help me out as i'm a total lost soul regarding the artbooks the Fate series has been pulling out

1) to 4) is pretty much exactly what the titles say... so if you want the most artbookish one you should get 1) or even 4) if you like the side-series, 4) has illustrations from Tiger Colloseum and Fate/Zero for example, while 1) to 3) is pretty much focused on the original VN as far as I know.

For 5) and 6): 6) has more large illustrations, so that might be what you want to go for, while 5) has more comics and explanations/sketches.
(For reference, I only own 4), the rest are impressions are reading the amazon.jp pages of the products)
