Here's my first attempt at a sig banner, done without any help. I just recieved an older version of photoshop from a friend a week ago and have been playing around.

I'm pretty happy with it overall, except I couldn't get the big text block to look right IMO, but I really wanted to work that quote into it... oh well.

(BTW: The japanese text down the right side is the anime [Higurashi no Naku Koro ni] and the text on the tree is the character's name)

I'm sorry for not rating anyone else, I don't feel qualified to do so, yet.

Ice Climbers: Very crisp for an animated sig. I can't help but smile when I see that hair wiggling around and the expressions of Tsukasa and Kagami. I also like how the movement draws your attention right to your username. - 9/10

I think it looks pretty good. What version photoshop is it? Anything 7.0 and above is pretty good. Even I use 7.0 (oh you'll have to rate a signature if you're gonna answer that lol). Old, but reliable. CS2 has too many features that I don't need. = P

You have a good choice of fonts all around. And I like the abstractness of it all. I mean, the black-white background to the left is as difficult to see clearly as the text on the right. So I think it all fits. The character in the middle is pushed forward because she's the only one in color, so that works.

For a first attempt, Xel, it's pretty well made and thought out. 9/10

First attempt? Wow you've got some talent there! It has a really nice composition and color choosing. But at first glance i didn't notice the text "Xel" on the bottom right. I think you should do something with the "X".
