Considering that this game is being made from scratch, 30+ characters sounds reasonable. This is a good thing, because the less characters there are, the more time can be allocated to testing them for balance. I'm really looking forward to this game. Thor and Silver Surfer need to make the roster. It was ridiculous how they weren't in any of the previous installments.

Seriously speaking, a good portion (if not the overwhelming majority) of those who cares about the marvel roster are casual players anyway. You know, those who press L+R to do 3 man hyper combos just because it looks damn cool?

So yeah, if I wanted a serious tourney, I'd go the likes of SF4 or BB, like I went CvS2 or GG back then. But if random people came over and they just want to have fun, MvC2 was the ticket, and I hope MvC3 will be the same.

They never said there would be only 30 characters but at least 30. They may end up adding more.

Hope Hulk's alternate color is Red here since "RULK" is the one making the marvel scene in the fall of thr Hulks comics now.

Anyways this has HYPED me even more than SSIV!!! And yes screw the balance! I want my Marvel characters! >__<

Capcom are claiming the portrait artwork is how the characters look ingame, seems like there will be 3 alternate costumes for each character.. probably DLC like SFIV/SSFIV.. I'm looking forward to seeing them hype up each character, Capcom did an exceptional job with Super in that regard, 10+ trailers in the end.

• The game is set for a spring 2011 release date on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

• Right now the development team is looking at having about 30 characters — or so — in the roster.

• Seth Killian said that fans can expect "a healthy dose of new blood" when it comes to fighter selection.

• It's a 3-on-3 tag team fighting game, players build their own squads and uses Assists as well. Very similar to MvC2.

• The title uses an advanced version of Capcom's MT Framework, which powered Resident Evil 5 and Lost Planet 2.

• MvC3 has aerial combos, hyper combos and other original gameplay systems.

• The game is officially titled Marvel vs. Capcom 3: Fate of Two Worlds.

• The goal is to get 100 pieces of music in the game, that includes old favorites, new tracks and remixes. The 'Take You For A Ride' song won't be returning, at least, it's not planned right now.

• There are no plans for an arcade, PC or Wii version.

• The team behind this wants this game to have a strong storyline.

• Development started on MvC3 in the summer of 2008.

Morrigan looks the best she ever has... she deserves it after 10 years of the same sprite lol.. I wonder if Ono and Dimps are going to work on Darkstalkers after they finish SSFIV Arcade.

I am hoping that Galon/Talbon makes the roster this time around. Spider-man is probably a definate. Hope to see Venom there (Brock not Gargan). Jill for the Capcom side if Chris is there. I wonder if Wesker could probably make the cut since it would be interesting. Honestly, I am hoping that they add more than just 30 since MVC2 had a very interesting roster and I was wanting to see them back one way or another.

I know what you mean. But I don't fall into that casual player category. In a crossover like this, I'm looking for deep gameplay, balance, and good representation for both sides of the roster. All of these things are essential for making this game a true gem.

I really doubt Jill is back with Chris in this and Frank West as well.. kinda takes up a bit too much of the Capcom side on "regular person" quota. I'll rather see Phoenix Wright added... Objection Hyper Combo ftw..

Also in addition to being more imbalanced a bigger roster means this will take long to come out, the only reason they can have such big rosters in the past is because they recycled sprites from other Capcom games, best example being Morrigan who had the same sprite from Darkstalkers until TvC... Marvel Super Heroes was the basis for a lot of characters used throughout XMen Vs StreetFigther and so on.

30 characters somewhat balanced, spring 2011 >>>>>>>> 50 characters, half who don't even get chosen and you'll never see online or in a tourny, imbalanced as fuck, spring 2012.

And lol, its not like you can't have fun with a balanced cast lol.. you just give everyone overthe top stuff. Think Guilty Gear XX for a balanced game with over the top stuff...

Lol, man I know what you mean. That guy has been snubb from the Capcom roster while guys like Anakaris gets a shot in some of the crossovers. Really missed doing some of his combos.

Anyway, what are the chances that due to gainning popularity that Deadpool ends up being a broken character for this game (though expect nerfing if patches are released)?

^ Now that would really be interesting. The silhouette and the picture you posted match up well.

What they should do in this game is have one boss for the Capcom side, and one boss for the Marvel side (like CVS2). Galactus would be a great marvel boss to fight against.
