Would there be any difference between the equalizer and evolt system? They both deal with breaking down into data and reformation. But evolt goes the extra mile and says that it is a system that revolves around death and rebirth.

I'm watching it as well and from the looks of it so far, it looks like we have a gem for Spring 2013.

But with that aside, I've decided to ditch the idea of giving the Canon characters their spotlight back in the 2nd arc that was originally planned.

Mainly because of the recent events and the ideas I have for it. I thought I could get it to work somehow, but there are some things that don't always go as planned...

Uh, the canon cast has to be put in at some point, else its not so much an IS fic so much as "Fic that borrows elements from IS".

They will be in from time to time. Anyway, here's the general concept(s) I have for the first few chapters of the 2nd arc. Or what I like to call, Phase 2.

Wait, why would they move to ISA for training a completely unrelated synthetic weapon? ISA is a SCHOOL above all else. They wouldn't allow 4 random guys packing heat to practice there. Laura's not even a soldier as long as she's a student there.

Future Imperfect has a pretty big shout out to Crisis Core

Ichika pretty much acts like Zack in the DARK future segments: Good in a lot of things, a badass, drags around a catatonic Kazuma and talks to him like a companion cube, and dies fighting an army.

Wait... Chifuyu isn't part of the dark harem? well that's a let down. I thought we'd get a darth vader versus luke kinda deal.

Chifuyu's dead; she died before the story actually begins. Ichika also doesn't lead a resistance: He's a one man army Action Dad (in a sense given Kazuma's creation).

Although, multiple characters did turn: Cecilia, Laura, Charlotte, Tatenashi, Kanzashi, and Natasha are working with Phantom Task and running their own corporations. Houki was his canonical love interest and he had a one night stand with her prior to being captured for the next 4 years.

Tabane and Kuu are also considered enemies, though given that they were never "good" to begin with, they don't exactly count as having turned.

On the sad side, he never actually kills any of the named antagonists: He dies before he fights them for real and every prior confrontation ended with him running away in order to prioritize Kazuma's safety. On the bright side, he manages to kill a Metal Gear expy and take out an entire army of both IS and augments before dying.

A pacifist to the end. I can kinda respect that though. Then again I'm not too big on letting people walk all over me too much if I can fight back.

Not so much that he's a pacifist as that he barely gets any actual chance to fight. The respective girls are the leaders of their faction, meaning they don't exactly do grunt work like soldiers do. The story makes it very clear that he kills people and the army that was sent after him at the end had no survivors, meaning he killed everyone there.

In DARK future, he never actually went to ISA, so the only females significant to him are Houki and Chifuyu: The former is Tabane's little sister and the latter is dead. Although, the girls immunity doesn't last forever: Charlotte, Kuu/Chloe, Autumn, and Laura are killed later on.

How smart a move would it have been for Ichika to have the mechanism that let him use Reiraku Byakuya removed then switch it with extra batteries/capacitors?
