I think the above aptly summarizes the return of the manga story line. Episode itself was so so. The highlight of it is more or less the new OP/Ed theme song. I like the OP because the visual is light hearted which breaks the business-as-usual as it has been for Naruto quite some time. The show has become emo'ish storywise with little or no break. So the OP song's upbeat nature along with cheerful, comedic visual helps break the cycle that has been going on for a while. In that world it seems the apocalypse scenario is played out in every other episode. The ending song, on the other hand, is very stylish visually. The theme of it returns to the downcast mood of this show, but then it also breaks the cycle with an optimistic Naruto who is bent on showing Sasuke the feeling of warmth you get from not hating people. Naruto also desperately wanted to hold Sasuke's hand. Oh, and this is how a real man sleeps on a bed: by lying on your stomach with a huge backback on your back. Gai sensei........!

animation seemed so so but having watched LQ stream I shan't be overly picky ...
Generally, Praise the end of fillers. Amen. didn't think we would reach the waterfall already. Also realized I've been missing Bee. He ll make a good counterbalance to the mentioned emo I hope...

Anyway, to get back into the story, Killer Bee is always refreshing. His Enka-Rap is hilarious as usual. I really thought he was going to crtique Naruto by punching him on the face after Naruto's own little rendition of rap. Now if Naruto can tame Kiyubi, he becomes an instant power house that has ever walked the Narutoverse, right? There is so much he can do with virtually unlimited amount of chakra. Technically he should be an immortal from there on if we take into account how Kiyubi chakra can assist with regenerative process like healing.

haha... yeah.. and there is also the hint toward a complete version of rasegan that he yet to master which is supposed to be so fierce that it probably kick starts a singularity equivalent to Big Bang. He is learning that because he wants hold hands with Sasuke-kun, the man who with dreamy hair, or was it the eyes?

Since they used the same opening for this episode as they did for the fillers, I expected them to use the same ending as the filler, so I was kinda of disappointed when I saw that it was different. However, the ED was quite good, I liked the animation effects they did and the song was well chosen. But it was kinda of weird seeing naruto act like that towards sasuke, I mean, trying to hold his hands...come on lol (hopefully that wasn't a hint lol)
The episode was refreshing in the sense that I know we're moving forward in the story. Animation could have been better, but hey I'm not complaining. |

Naruto is back and thank fuck for that! I don't follow the manga very well and to be honest I was starting to lose the plot a bit...
Love how Bee is the "top dog" on the island. Giant Panda got owned! Episode was nicely paced as well. 7/10
