If you thought that Viktor's intent was chilling, wait until you read Valentina's scene. That one is just cunning. In the end you won't be able to tell who is playing who for a fool, and who is using who's schemes to put themselves higher.

On that same note, Tallard is just as cunning.

It's entirely possible that his scheme for Asvarre involves Princess Guinivere, while playing up Tigre's sympathy for his benefit along the way until he is able to firmly seize power for himself.

The cloak-and-daggers politics hit a new high in Vol 6.

I've actually read a really detailed spoiler of the whole book, but I purposely skimmed through it because I wanted to leave the rich content to the actual reading/discovery.

From what I remember about Valentina (it's kind of a mixed bag),

I remember she was trying to intercept Tigre, but Tigre's detour to Sasha kind of threw everything out of wack. Also, she is enamored with one of the country's lore and is trying to scheme her way to become an empress. She even tempted the prince (IIRC) to "have her." The prince himself is also lustful for her, but he is holding himself off. The prince is so controlling that he kills any guard that has been left in the room with her.

That actually applied to Sofiya.

She was captured by the second prince of Asvarre, who uses Sofiya as a way of "testing himself" with regards to how he can endure not throwing Sofira down and having his way with her. As an important bargaining piece for Muozinel, she has to remain "intact". Sofiya dared the prince (I forgot his name out of spite, the little shite) to have his way with her out of spite and to show that she won't break, even after several days of capture.

The prince has four guards simultaneously watching over her, and if someone so much as tries to have his way with Sofiya, all four of them will be executed. So far (if I recall correctly), 12 have already died.

If you want to read the rich content on your own though, then yes, I highly recommend purposely ignoring these spoilers I've posted as the scenes are way better on their own once you read them.

I also highly recommend reading every detail during the Lux Fortress battle once you get to it. Tigre shows just how much he's learned from Mila, and it's another scene showing just how ingenious Tigre can really get. From the battle in Vol 4 to the battle in this one, Mila's influence on Tigre regarding subterfuge in battle is really showing.

Olga kicking so much ass doesn't hurt, too.

Yeah, for actual combat, I actually liked the tag team of Mila and Tigre in volume 4. They just had such great chemistry. In terms of working in unison, he worked much, much better with Mila than Ella.

Mila's also a great teacher, even better than Lim, as Mila makes Tigre work really hard just to get the idea of what Mila's trying to teach him. Of course, the idea of Elen being inferior to Mila in any way is just unacceptable, hence why she explained to Tigre just how much of an "opportunist" Mila was in Volumes 2 and 4. Right after Tigre mentioned how "straightforward" Mila was, too. I chuckled hard at that part.

I agree with their combat chemistry, but its understandable though. Elen wields a long sword, so she has to switch between either defending Tigre closely, or charging straight to the enemy and taking the fight to them. Lyudmila, wielding a spear (that can adjust its size), can play both offensive and defensive positions at the same time with regards to Tigre (which is exactly what she did in Vol. 4). That's probably one of the reasons why their combat chemistry was so great.

At the moment, I don't think any other Vanadis can play both defensive/offensive roles in combat involving Tigre. Even Olga has to pick between defensive/offensive as her combat style with her axe Viralt doesn't give much leeway unlike Lyudmila's style of combat with her spear Viralt. Probably Elizaveta, but she has to be won over to Tigre's side first...

Tigre is sent by a village to hunt for this buck. Tigre stalks it, shoots it, and then... just waits. The reason for doing so is because he's not sure if the buck is really dead. If the buck suddenly sprang alive while he approached, he would be dead meat. Further, he's aware that a dead animal like that is a magnet for other predators. If he were to approach it immediately, he might get blindsided by another predator. Funny thing is, Lumie immediately flapped, flapped his way to the dead buck and Tigre just kind of laughed it off and slowly approached the buck.

Tigre notes that the buck is too big, but he'll need to cut off the horns as proof and he'll shed the skin. This meant that he would have to leave all the gut and meat here.

In Game of Thrones Tywin Lannister style, he starts disemboweling the buck, pulling its guts out, and shedding the skin off. He pulls the intestines out and throw it to Lumie. Lumie proceeds to chomp on it and when he's finished, he picks at Tigre's leg asking for more. Because Lumie's mouth is painted in blood, some of it stains Tigre's paints (yes, it's that detailed). After throwing more meat and Lumie had his share, he finally started napping. Tigre himself cooked whatever he could eat and left everything but the horn and skin as proof.

As a whole, it's a detailed and highly gory scene if you fully imagine it. At the same time, the details and descriptions of a simple scene such as a hunt is what makes this novel so enjoyable.

Lumie could care less about Tigre. He treats Tigre like a rock on the street (literal description). Lumie LOVES Tita. With that said, Lumie always follows Tigre in hunts like these. To this day, Tigre still has no idea why Lumie tags along. When Lumie first started to tag along, Ella said that it's fine for Lumie to tag along, but don't let him "get too wild". I.e. Don't let him fly off and escape into the wild.

After the hunt,

The villagers were in utter disbelief of Tigre. Tigre is like, "it's nothing." The villagers thought about holding a celebration for him, but Tigre declined because Ella came into mind. The next morning, he wanted to slip away and when he went and bid his farewell to the elder, the elder was in tears asking Tigre to stay one more day to tell his story of how he hunted the buck. Tigre thought it was a real shame that he had to return, but he had to return.

Like Archmirage said, when he got back, there was a brief summary of Arc 1. He sees Tita waiting for him and Tita informs him that Ella and Lili is waiting for him.

What was waiting for Tigre? Why, a personal request by the king for Tigre to act as a secret emissary. Like Arch pointed out, it's a rather complex political situation at the other country.

As for Tigre himself, he finds himself is a real bind. Tigre notes that he has only seen the king once. While the king showered praise on Tigre during their past meeting, the king's deep, void, and black eyes left a deep, chilling impression. He found it strange that the king gave him a personal request that was not to be on record.

In the letter, the king stated that by sending Tigre as a emissary, he's suggesting to the prince that not only is the prince getting Ztched's support, but the prince is also getting Brune's support. The king noted that there was no one more appropriate than Tigre for this role because of his hero status in Brune and his current residency in Ztched under Ella.

Now, when I read the king's letter, all the hairs on the back of my neck immediately stood up. It sounded nice, but my senses told me that there is something really, really wrong here. I could sniff a trap.

Tigre wasn't exactly in the mood to accepting this request, but at the same time, he felt it was impolite to refuse the king's personal request. Also, he had the concern about dragging Brune into this political situation. Simultaneously, he also felt that Ella was being forced to pressure Tigre into accepting this request because it was also the king's way of testing Ella's loyalty. In Arc 1, Ella mobilized the military with various excuses to the king. This time, Ella has nothing to offer to the king.

As Tigre mulled over this letter, Ella decided to be transparent. She said that this letter is a way of the king to test Tigre's ability.

First, it's to see if Tigre is strong or weak.
If Tigre is weak, the king is dispose of Tigre and force Brune to take the blunt of the political blame.
If Tigre is strong, Tigre can achieve glory for himself and also strengthen the proposed alliance with Brune tagged in as a bonus.
Also, Ella guessed, if Tigre proves to be strong, the king can also determine whether or not to eliminate Tigre as a threat.

Any way you look at it, the king wins in the end.

I think Ellen wouldn't rage as much, I mean, this is a girl who already trying to talk Lum and Teita into an alliance to keep Tigre nailed in LaMetiz, and she also said she is willing to loan Tigre to Alexandra if she get better.

Mira might actually be pleased, since it would mean Tigre might be in to a girl with less than wholesome bust.

Right now the only girl who Ellen would be incensed at is Mira (rival)...so I think two of them are just 16 years old who want to keep a favorite toy away from each other.

No, that's the original source. If you go the big translation website, volume 6 is at chapter 1. If you go the original source, you can find up to chapter 2. Usually, the translator will translate on his own thread, compile the parts, edit it, and then post it at the translation website. In other words, you'll find the more refined and accurate translation on the translation site, but you'll find the latest updates at the original source. It's kind of like what na@om (I might have just butchered his name...) did with High School DxD volume 14.

English? Don't know. I heard it was polled and the results haven't been favorable. The truth is that this novel has to get past a lot of preconceived notions. Most people who look at the cover will automatically assume ecchi+fanservice and shallow plot. I also know of a translator in the Chinese community who dropped the translation after volume 2 because in her words, "there was too much skin" when in reality, the ecchi scenes decrease and the emphasis on the deep plot increases. The translation of the series wasn't picked up until a few months later and even then, the series was slow in popularity, which led to slow translations. It didn't really get a following until maybe Volume 4 when people started to follow it.

Further, for some reason, deeper light novels that focus on politics generally hasn't been well received in terms of popularity. Madan no Ou to Vanadis, Rakuin no Monsho, and Mismarca Koukoku Monogatari are all light novels heavy in politics yet receive considerable less attention than the likes of Campione, High school DxD, Infinite Stratos, etc. In the Chinese community, Madan has gained enough support that the translation is moving along, but Rakuin no Monsho and Mismarca are still moving at a glacial pace.
