Its funny again i cant disagree with you but i also cant completely agree with you. They had a few really hilarious shipping moments. The fights were entertaining but it felt far too forced for my liking. The last few with rias freaking out along with everyone else was fun and in truth that jumped it from below average to average. The changes annoy me but it was entertaining. Next week should be good. I've gotta say though i really hate how Arthur looks. Plus Ross looks a good 3 or 4 years older then i expected.

First time in a DxD episode where there's no breasts and nipples. The actions were nice, kinda feel like they downgrade Fenrir a bit here, the LN version of him sounds way deadlier and did much better. And the animators do did some nice touch on the relationship wise like the Kiba and Tsubaki moment. They even made a minor scene where Sona thanks Saji for supporting her dreams.

If u hadnt read the LN and are experiencing DxD for the first time thats one thing but as somebody whose read the LN faithfully if this is how they handle the Loki battles i'm EXTREMELY OFFENDED because of all thats happened before the stuff leading up to the Loki battle is part of what makes vol 7 so beautiful and the fact they've ignored that might be the biggest crime of all.

Volume 7 wasn't even that good IMO. It was by far the worst of that arc. Like honestly I'm not so stuck up to the point where I'm gonna say this is bad because it doesn't follow the source material. Just because it's the source material doesn't mean that it's perfect.

I cant disagree with the fact that overall vol 7 was weak. But the fact remains that the key of the original vol 7 wasnt Loki. The key to vol 7 was Akeno and her relationship with her father that has been completely ignored and from the look of the preview it wont be addressed. THAT is my problem its not that they've followed the material its that they've messd up the original intent of vol 7.

I don't know how the original light novel story goes, but as for as the anime and this episode...
It feels like someone took the material, threw it in the blender, and dumped it out. Every character/monster was getting weaker/stronger by the cut, the development was... jagged? Pieces by pieces. One of the more noticeable moments was when Silvia suddenly was very up-and-running in the NEXT shot before she was even given the phoenix tears. You know, at least show her reviving or something? Or... maybe it getting used? Or... putting some kind of material in the middle? Instead of her practically teleporting to a different scene in a different condition? I'm not sure. "A lot happened", but not a lot happened.

I knew this season was going to be a little rocky. In the first two seasons they have only done two volumes per season which equaled out to six episodes per volume. This season they are putting three volumes into twelve episodes so either they were going to have to change things around or compress/cut out some parts in order to make the twelve episode cut. Obviously they have chosen the latter and had their reasons for doing so one of them being that Rossweisse did not really enter the main stage till volume seven in the first place so the change up can allow her to make more appearances this season. Also most of the main points of volume four have already come to light. Introducing Tannin, training, reaching balance breaker, Koneko and Akeno accepting their true abilities and no longer restraining themselves as well as a few minor facts like learning about Tsubaki's [Mirror Alice] and her liking Kiba and Sona being a water user. The only two fact left out are
Spoiler for spoiler:
As to how this episode was I think it was fine. All things considered. Fenrir being weaker then he should be is easy enough to explain away. Spoiler for Novel + possible future episodes:

I personally think that the next episode they will force Loki to retreat for a short period of time that will last till the end of the season so they can somehow get to the events of volume five. The only thing I cannot figure out is Spoiler for Spoiler:
