I just read the fist chapter of this manga and felt obligated to come here and inform others of it.

It's dark but fun at the same time. The first chapter turned into something like soft hentai for a couple pages and outstanding manipulation and slaughter for others. The MC is cunning, thorough and amusing. There is absolutely none of the Maou isn't such a bad guy and spares the weak stuff going on here. Yet somehow with all of this darkness and lust being thrown around it still managed to maintain an amusing and fun feeling. To be honest I'm not sure how the author managed to take character traits that I absolutely hate most of the time and make me smile.

Anyway I absolutely recommend checking out the first chapter even if you dislike dark fantasy like myself. I believe that most people will find it fun and amusing.

Ah so this has a web novel? That's good to know I may look into it. Somehow it has the harem comedy feel while seemingly breaking every "rule" of harem comedy on chapter 1.

It’s very long and it had tricky lines to translate easily and perfectly.

Also, I don’t have much time to work on it. I’m already having problem to work on kenkyo and Lookism, I just can’t find time for Maou.

So I’m putting Maou no Hajimekata under “Teaser project” since I don’t think I’ll be able to really work on it.
But one day, maybe, I’ll find time for a chapter or a translator to put on it. Probably.

Ah, I remember reading & finishing the WN sometime ago. It was...interesting in a way. Though I still got some mixed feelings about it.

And yes, the bloody chap can be quite the a evil & lusty little bugger. Burning down villages, Killing off innocent people, kidnapping, traps, manipulations, conquering, brainwashing, mindbreaking, rape, NTR, sacrificing souls to demons, etc. etc.

These are both released by the same publisher that I linked above and they appear to have a few others that look like dark fantasy. I haven't read himekishi ga classmate because I generally dislike dark fantasy with these aspects. Just something about this one felt different. I just don't get a bad feeling from it even when bad things are happening in the story.

If I had read a description of his actions in chapter 1 and 2 before reading them I would have never opened it out of fear of needing brain bleach to get rid of the feeling. However, I read it and liked it because while he does terrible things the presentation is not done in a manner that would make me rage (at least from the first two chapters which is all I've read)

On another note it is nice to finally see a Maou who isn't a "good guy" that had to do, easily excusable, bad things from a certain point of view. I mean this guy considers humanity his enemy and has given humans pretty good reason to feel the same way about him. The Maou being a nice guy in disguise was fun about the first 20 or so times and I still enjoy it when it's done well. Sometimes though I just wanna see a Maou be a Maou and do some real evil.
