On episode 15, when it showed Saber was drawing energy/light from the surrounding environment with her sword , what background music is playing? Point of Zero?

A remix of Sword of Promised Victory (a track from the original VN). it will most likely be included in the next part of the soundtrack.

With the new ED's single out and the lyrics confirmed, here are the kanji and translation of "Sora ha Takaku Kaze ha Utau":

Spoiler for kanji:

Spoiler for translation:

Even though the song is sung by a female singer, I will be really surprised if the lyrics isn't from Kiritsugu's viewpoint. As for the song itself, another piece of nice work from Kajiura Yuki. I agree with some opinions out there that singing-wise it can be better, but a good song nonetheless. I definitely prefer it over "to the beginning".

Really? I thought that it was pretty much Iri's viewpoint, IMO. The whole bit at the start about standing beside him and learning about love etc.

Thanks for the Lyrics

About episode 18, I felt this was the first time in the entire series where I actually though that musically this show was better than Fate/Stay night. Kajiura had been having difficulty impressing me so far (even if I do agree that the OST in general is good) whenever I compare it to Kenji Kawai's score. This weeks episode though made me change my mind, and it's arguably closer to the same level I expected from her after the Madoka OST.

You're welcome.

The overall pessimism of the lyrics' tone sounds more like Kiritsugu to Iri to me. Plus:
  • The 4th paragraph about the companion of the "singer" believing people will reach where s/he is and the "singer" want to take her/his companion out of the freezing forest: Einzbern castle happens to be inside a forest. If we talk about getting out of that forest, it's more for Iri than Kiritsugu since he's from the outside to begin with. Iri is the one who got stuck inside the castle
  • 5th paragraph about light of justice judging people: that sounds very much like something that would come out of Kiritsugu's mouth rather than Iri's
  • 6th paragraph about not believing in the world's kindness: doesn't that kind of resemble what Kiritsugu said in episode 16, during his confrontation with Saber?

I thought the music for the ED was from Kiritsugu because he seems to be struggling anyway. Iri is there to support him even if he loses his calm, cold demeanor.

There are some translation matters which can vary depending on translator choice, such as whether "I" or "you" get used. Reading the translation by Atashi - http://atashi.wordpress.com/2012/04/...tau/#more-9394 - that one definitely makes it sound as if the song is from Iri's perspective, in my opinion. The talk about being "I was born lacking in life" with an "incomplete heart", the "You’re someone who didn’t believe in the kindness of the world" and "I believed I can become a fragment of light" seem to fit her a lot better than if the song was from Kiritsugu's perspective.

Spoiler for Atashi's translation:

From the UTW Translation:

Quote:
Men will one day come to realize
The Joy of chasing after a dream
With the eyes of a child, you've always had faith
I'll be right beside you
As we pass through the frozen forest
So that the world's sorrow will not taint your eyes
That's definitely from Iri's perspective. Kiritsugu is the one with the "childlike" ideals to save the world, which is part of what Iri finds endearing about him.

Other that, I loved the inclusion of Manten in the previous episode. That was completely unexpected, though Kaijura was just really on the ball throughout this one, in general.

Here's a really beautiful violin rendition of the 2nd Opening ("To the Beginning"):

I hope someone enjoys it as much I did.

I gotta say, I'm digging the F/Z OST a lot more than the Madoka OST

That was the first appearance of that musical track, so no one will probably know the name of it until it appears on OST II. If you're interested, it plays for a longer period of time, with more of it revealed, at the beginning of Episode 24.

Is there a confirmed release date for the 2nd OST? Every time I try to google it, I either get the first OST or the game OSTs...
