Same that Serenade beta for me. I watched the first ep and I can say that for now this show isn't interesting at all, it's not even average.
Visually it's good looking btw.

Seeing characters we know in something else is really strange but that wasn't the issue.

I think most followers of the franchise agree that the Prisma Illya story only REALLY gets its legs with Zwei, which snowballs into the fantastic stuff we're getting in Drei.

Hmm, you figure they'd REALLY stretch the first season to twelve episodes? Because I feel it can be done with less.

Yep. While the first series is good enough (although I assume the first episode probably just the first chapter? In which case the anime hasn't gotten to any of the interesting stuff yet) it wasn't until the second series that the plot really got a grip on itself. There are one or two things about the first series that I do miss, though, which I won't state here, since this is an anime thread and some mods get trigger-happy about spoilers.

graphically i prefer the manga. They did it a little too different from the manga, especially shirou. And those magical sticks have a strange voice......

For me, I just wished that the Luvia and Rin looked a little older, and still hoping that Luvia will get a chance to execute her slapping-move@F/UC, hopefully on Rin

Well, basically yes, but Prisma Illya is a little more serious than Carnival Phantasm. Difference is that Carnival Phantasm was pure parody but Prisma Illya although is still a comedy has a story, which later even drastically turns at darker and edgier level.

Unfortunately, this concrete attack is not present in manga, but the rivalry between Luvia and Rin will be more than enough.

Prisma Illya actually plays a lot of Magical Girl plot devices straight for the first "season", especially with the card hunt. Not exactly the best way to hook new viewers.

Zwei and Drei are MUCH different, and I dare say much better.

True, but up to the point I have read into 2wei (which is almost all of it), I wouldn't say it's dark and edgy, but since you put it in comparisson to the original run (the first two volumes that will make the bulk of the anime's story), it's true, but this happens with every mahou shoujo anime for guys (Nanoha, Sakura, etc). It definately does not become F/Z or HF at any point though.

Yeah, I know it's not in the manga, but still they will have to insert a lot of material, so this is what I would like to see animated

I agree here too, but let me remind you that it's way harder to hook new viewers with a serious plot instead of an easy to watch alternative setting, where you don't have to feel sorry for how the characters' life have been messed up.

Manga becomes more dark and edgy in 3rei!!. Basically in the atmosphere, original manga is like Fate route, 2wei! like UBW route and 3rei!! like HF route. There are also some allusions at this. Although the fact that the element of comedy to some extent still remains in whole manga. We can say that 3rei!! is like more shounen-like version of HF route for Prisma Illya.

Yes, in 3rei!! many bad things will happen to characters. Especially Miyu.
On the other hand in latest chapter, something pretty ironic happens to Illya.

Probably why the episode threads are REALLY sluggish. Heck, it's probably the most sluggish thread compared to all the Fate/ related properties that was running at the time. It makes me wonder of the producers planned on Season 2 ahead of time in order to pick up the slack.

Yeah, probably doesn't help. Splits up people who are watching the pre-air episodes from the rest unless they want to come back to discuss an episode they watched a week earlier.

Hopefully the chatter will pick up though.
