Illya's more a yandere, though. Sakura's only yandere after she breaks down a lot (otherwise she's Yamato Nadeshiko-ish), Illya's starts this way unless you fix her.

I thought it was established that Dark Sakura isn't a different personality and the one and the same as Sakura.

I think it's unlikely since it's not all written out. And unless Nasu writes the anime series, it's likely to be iffy. I would rather a Tsukihime anime.

Indeed. It's like when someone is drunk, they aren't a different person, they just have less inhibitions and all. Dark Sakura is just drunk on evil. I wish we had some yandere Sakura though, would have been hilarious.

Dark Sakura only appears in the last days of HF. It's not an alternative personality, rather is Sakura gone crazy (belatedly, she should have gone crazier earlier) and connection/possession to/with Angra Mainyu (remember they expect her brain and mind to fully melt away) and the duress of the strain of being a Grail combined. Brings out the worst out her, same with Saber and her Alter form I guess.

It's not love that makes her go insane, rather is what kept her from breaking down completely...in the end. The connection with AM also twists her expressions of love. Avenger himself only understands love through violence until he fixes this (considering he has to be evil for the sake of people's wishes and well being, there is a huge contradiction there already).

I don't know if I'd fully call her yandere, since she was being possessed, her body tormented to the extreme and having a mental breakdown, along with a lot of emotional turmoil that were combined in a bad timing. Illya, on the other hand, seems more yanderish first (like in that bad ending where she keeps Shirou's head?). I guess you can flanderize her like they do with Saber Alter...with her ahoge lol

Ilya was with Kiritsugu and Iris at the end. That made me dawww all over.

Looking through things I guess it makes sense they used the Melty Blood cast instead of the Tsukihime cast, since several of those actors were also in Fate/Stay Night, and thus would be talking to themselves. Such as if Kohaku and Rin spoke to each other, both would have been voiced by Kana Ueda. But with Melty Blood, Kohaku is instead voiced by Naoko Takano
