She's appeared!! Ponytail Kaya has arrived!! Love Kaya, love ponytails, put em together and I'm drooling for a week. Ah, to explain myself a little further (not really a spoiler), but this is pretty much her main hairstyle post-marriage.

Not to mention her splendid hair down version, and I finally got to enjoy the wedding chapter animated. I'm a little sad they cut some parts between Kaya and Takagi starting their new life together and with the honeymoon. For the most part having it animated would've been simply for my own satisfaction though, rather than useful content to add to the episode.

Ah, right...actual discussion about the episode...

What can I say? We're finally through the mud. I knew it was coming, but I'm happy Tanto's finally done. I'm really excited for the rest of the season, as we're heading into some really great stuff. I always found Bakuman at its best when the duo is coming up with a new idea, and with the stakes higher than ever they'll need a stellar idea to pull through.

Lastly, as much as I fawn over Kaya, when Miho said "I love you" to Mashiro I think it got me as much as it did him. Considering these two plan to be married one day it shouldn't be a surprise, but due to the way they're handling their relationship it turned out to be a real treat to hear.

Assuredly, Kaya looks gorgeous in that wedding dress, and for Miho sooner or later it will be a dream coming true for her as well.

Now, Hattori's scheme finally triggered the climax to make Ashirogi Muto snapping to quit Tanto right after Niizuma Eiji publicly declared them to be his rivals in TV.

I can think that Ashirogi Muto has reached rock-bottom into the abyss with Tanto and took the gamble to even higher stakes to begin the preparations for their comeback now that Tanto will be terminated.

The devotion and determination in those eyes with that awesome music playing in the background, as they let it known to the Editor-In-Chief that they'll be quitting Tanto to submit a better work that would compete against CROW within any of the other three serialization meetings for the remainder of the year, made the whole scene so epic beyond mainstream shounen standards.

Ashirogi Muto have a hard task ahead.
Surpassing Niizuma won't be easy at all and there is much at stake.
Expanding & continuing a previous one-shot success sounded like a winner, but...
Maybe "Stopper of Magma" will be their hit... or NOT.
With Hattori's help, there is still hope for them!

I'm going to guess that their next and final work will be a mainstream non-mainstream work. It will probably have a deep story, with dark setting, which is non-mainstream, but it will be created in a mainstream type of way, making it complex and have humor at times.

Maybe a simple setting, with a deep background.

You've got to admit, at that point, totally useless would have been a step up.

Still, he's grown.

Hattori really is in trouble with Iwase, even Eiji noticed something was wrong. Miura indeed may have grown a little. Surprised, but happy Hattori is helping them. Thought it would take the last meeting to pull it out. It's do or die time now.

New Page 21: Selfishness and Advice

Hattori blushing because he was caught off guard by Iwase's moe-girl factor put him in cahoots, that I so LOLed at the moment watching him.

So, pretty much that's sums up the source behind Eijis' speculations that the quality of the +Naturals' manuscripts is beginning to decline due to Iwase's love crisis to take Hattori look her as a woman.

I feel sorry for Iwase, because the whole show has clearly portrayed that Hattori-san isn't that type of guy, or maybe he has to try out for himself how it feels to fall in love with a girl.

Going right now with Ashirogi, indeed, Miura grew substantially to propose the first idea for KTM, and later asking helping advice from Hattori for the second idea, which was Hattori's, BTW.
This was made so in order for both boys to experiment and adapt themselves with different writing narratives and not closing their world with just making what they do best with non-mainstream dark stories.

Their new last chance manga idea sounds interesting.
Hope it will work.
Azuki's gift was totally sweet ^^
Judging by the look on Miura's face those two still have a chance.

Liking the idea for their new manga. Lol Iwase and Hattori gets funnier every time. That was a nice birthday surprise for Miho.

Hattori proved once again (and again, and again... etc.) what an awesome editor he is. I guess they are trying to prove that an editor should not be a factor if you are talented, since it is true that Eiji would be fine with most editors in charge of him.

Also, I thought that given Iwase serialization, she was assigned a different editor. Why is Hattori still assisting her?

This series has also proven one thing. If you put together the best talent (Ashirogi) with the worst talent (Muira) blocking your way, then you will suck. The editor in chief has been wrong on so many occassions, I am really wondering why he was placed there in the first place. If not for the manipulations and borderline unethical approaches (by industry/story standards) by others (Hattori, Eiji, etc.), Ashirogi would have eventually been thrown away as wasted talent.

I'm looking forward to seeing what comes next for them. So we know that the new manga script is supposed to be extremely good, but can it beat Eiji? However, I wouldn't put it past the editor in chief to turn it down and kick them out of Jack. At that point, I really believe someone should kick out the editor in chief and replace him with the second in command, who seems more reasonable.

I think the serious homour that they were talking about is something like Iwase being serious about her relation with Hittori e.g. how do i look... I laughed so hard but Iwase was being super serious. This perfect crime club manga looks very interesting.

I've been thinking Mashiro+Takagi combo is like Iwase+Niizuma combo. Takagi and Iwase both do the script and Mashiro and Niizuma both doing the drawing. Would it be better for Mashiro to do the name just like Niizuma? From reading the script Mashiro can use his perspective in drawing the manga instead of Takagi.

Have to say I really like this new idea of theirs. Just too bad we had to suffer through so much to get to this point. It's a pretty fun idea and has plenty of room for them to get flexible. Obviously it has to make it since if this is turned down then they are done. Nice to see that following Hattori around and having a laugh actually helped them out.

I'm sure the Iwase+Niizuma combination was made so people would make that kind of comparison. I don't think they need to change up their current approach though. Takagi has gotten plenty of experience doing the names and would assume he's gotten fairly good at it. Since Iwase was raw coming into this it was easier to just let Niizuma (who is pretty crazy talented) just take care of it. Niizuma has good enough sense for the story since he did the entire thing for Crow so it wasn't tough for him. Would probably require some adjustment for Mashiro to take on that extra work.

I wonder if the authors ever think, "This is a really good idea. Do we really want to use it as Ashirogi's next manga, when it could be our next manga?"

^ I think after Bakuman, the authors will probably go for a serious kind of "non-mainstream" again. Though, like Bakuman, it will probably have some mainstream elements, but as serious as "Death Note" or the "Classroom of you-know-what-I-mean". Those sort of thing is where Ouba's writing truly shines.

They could do both as do spin-offs, but they'd look funny if one of Ashirogi's "hit" tanked when done for real.

Bahahaha, I was waiting for this episode. The trailing Hattori bit and the perfect crime after are some of my favourite parts. Specifically seeing Iwase, and Mashiro's "are you sure it's okay for me to see your wife sleeping?" I REALLY wish they didn't skip over the scene about their bed though, that was good fun too. It's going to be a good ride until the end of the season.

Now for some pointless fanboying. Any scene Kaya is in is fantastic. Shujin you lucky bastard. That is all.
