Xvid Playback gets "Jumpy"
Xvid Version: .4x
I just recently had this problem where Xvid playback becomes "jumpy" or non-smooth. So I tried uninstalling the Xvid codec and reinstalling. Problem solved... but the next day it started happening again Then I tried opening the file on other players such as Real Media. Same result. (note: I've tried this on multiple files and I've never had this problem) So I uninstalled the codec again, but this time I went to check the files, and low and be hold they work! I checked the video compression type, and it said: Divx... WTF!??! (note: I did not change my computer in ANY WAY between the time of smooth playback and non-smooth playback) I'm going to try this on my other computers and see what happens. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Last edited by AOforever1; 2004-03-21 at 04:31. |

You could also uninstall divx, install ffdshow and either use ffdshow to decode everything (Use the unofficial version though, the "official" alpha has the same problem as divx when decoding xvid files with certain settings) or set ffdshow to decode everything but xvid. Oh and what exactly is .4x? I'd recommend using Koepi's latest |

Thanks a lot for the info Cruzz.
This then leaves the question of why did this problem decide to show itself now? Although I've stuck with WM9 (and it's entire series) for a while now without major problems; I think it's time to move on .4x = The version. Yeah I dont like betas of RCs, I had more bad experiences with them than good. |
