It wasn't really like this until the Randy Boy fight. Before then, the fights are exaggerated, but still kept within the real live realm as far as manga goes. But past 3 or 4 fights is really taking the realism out of this series.

Speaking of realism and exaggeration the most outrageous thing Morikawa did is that leaping monkey of a boxer that can clinch on turnbuckles....damn Wolly....I really hated that chapter....
RBJ fight was the best realism fight I've seen so far.

I like the RBJ fight, but it did start to drift away from realism with the whole Ashura montage and the use of static as way of rhythm disruption. All the fights since then has really been letdowns that makes you do WTF?

Back to current chapter though, I love how Ali Shuffle just come up as a move, but the end of chapter is really bugging me. It seems that they are make Ali Shuffle as a switch for Itagaki to go into overdrive.

I mean, that is literally what you see in professional wrestling with like Hogan's Hulking Up, Austin's middle fingers, Rock's Bring It, and Undertaker's deadman rising stuff. I don't know if I like it in boxing.

Speaking of that Ali Shuffle, it's like RBJ rhythm static disruption, only thing is he changes stance at middle of any fight. Itagaki is meant for speed and did the that thing only with his level of speed made the win.

and yes most Ippo fights now are truly WTF....

Speaking of Ali, the guy is the greatest. An out boxer with power, then when he lost his speed, he become a puncher with ridiculous stamina. I would really love to see how he would fight during his 3 year of inactivity at his prime.

Anyway, I also has problem with Itagaki's recent fights. Not that I had problem with him having incredible anticipation/insight and spacial awareness or the current burst of speed, but the way his skills shows up really bugged me.

Ippo's recent fights are WTF, so are Itagaki's skills.

Seriously, Itagaki NEED to lose. He is getting too cocky and he is the exact opposite of Ippo represent. Ippo shows hard work can beat a genius while in Itagaki case it is since he is a genius hard work can't beat him.

No. I want him to win, Ippo must be the one to take him down.

FFS. Kimura and Aoki are the ones i ALWAYS root for, and the author doesn't even show their matches anymore, let alone how they lose. Just chuck them aside after using them to show the underdogs always lose, why don't you. Damn.
