FE is one of my favourite series too. Started playing from FE3 back in SNES and my favourite is FE4. Story, gameplay, weapons, music...all these are better than the other FE games I've played (6, 7, 8, 9, didn't play 5).
I was a bit surprised that there was a FE4 soundtrack in FE9. |

Yggdra Union is definitely the most challenging and innovative one compare to SRW and FE series.
All 3 are really good games though, i love em all. Yggdra Union for it's innovative and challenging gameplay, FE for it's story and SRW for customization. I do wish they would translate the rest of the series of FE.

I think my ever-changing signatures are a dead giveaway that I like Fire Emblem. I even wrote a parody song about it, based off of Weird Al Yankovic's Star Wars parody (which was in turn based off of American Pie).
Spoiler for Fire Emblem 7:
I'll post my collection of anime parody Fire Emblem stat sheets later... |

If anyone hasn't noticed, today is the official release date for Fire Emblem Goddess of Dawn......er rather Radiant Dawn now in North America. I called my local EB and they said it should be in tomorrow. It's cold as hell, but I don't mind making the trip. Can't wait to play as Sanaki-Sama .

I can't buy it because I lack the spare money... For now, I just comfort myself with the fact that all of the girls grew older and wider, and I'm not in a hurry to see them... Like llyana, Mia, Marcia, Astrid, Jill, ...... -_-

Well I've been playing Fire Emblem Goddess of Dawn for a while and recently just got my first third tier promotion. Titania is now a Golden Knight. Goddess of Dawn is the first game in the series to have 3 tiers of character classes, so technically there's a potential to reach the equivalent of level 60 with some characters. Laguz cap out at Level 50, or so I here. This also means though that many characters will max some of their stats quite quickly now (there are stat caps per class and some are kind of low), meaning there is now an incentive to promote early in some cases rather than waiting until Level 20.
The third tier is reached by either leveling a character up to Level 21 of their second tier, or using an item called the Master Crown. Here's a list of the third tier classes in case people are interested: Spoiler for Third Tier Classes For Fire Emblem Goddess Of Dawn Characters:
Characters also now get their class specific skill by reaching their third tier instead of with those annoying Arcane Scrolls of which their were only four of last game. So now instead of having to choose between giving Mia that Shooting Star Sword, Oscar that Sunlight Sword and wanting desperately to give the Aether ability to Ike as well as Luna to Gatrie and Shooting Star Sword to one other Swordmaster/Trueblade but having to sacrifice one of the options (because I just listed five and theirs only potential for four), you simply need to get them their final class. MUCH better planning this time. Balancing this out perhaps is that Bonus Experience doesn't give quite as much exp per point (the ratio is now something like 10 actual exp to a bonus experience point for a 2nd tier character at level 5 or so). It was kind of too useful last time, I'll admit, but now it's merely a welcome addition to help round out your characters levels more. I find myself giving it to people who are within 40 points of their next level just to give them a boost. And for those who were wondering, unfortunately you don't get Sanaki until: Spoiler for When You Get Sanaki:

I thought of buying a Wii for GoD but then I thought again. I'm a big Fire Emblem fan, but I didn't enjoy PoR much. It's not worth paying almost $300 for a game that features more of the same characters that I never cared for and a story I wasn't much interested in in the first place. Plus the art and the colours in PoR really got me down. So brown, so grey, so dreary. More of the same? No thanks.
Third tier promotions sounds interesting. Is it like the rookie system in FE8? I'm looking forward to the FE3 remake on the DS instead.

Your not alone there. I don't care much at all for the Telius saga. The story, setting and characters doesn't appeal to me at all. The gameplay was dumbed down too much and has not added anything new, only bringing back features which were dropped from earlier games. Also every freakin major character has plot armour. If they were going to do that they may as well scrapped the permanent deaths like FE4 did.
I'm also looking far more forward to the FE remake. Quote:
First game was Fire Emblem Gaiden the 2nd game. FE8 had rookie classes and that makes 10 the 3rd game. |

Or you can change into a uber rookie class that is even more crazy only after finishing both routes tho (if I remember correctly)
