God, I'm reading snippets of events all over the forums and I'm trying my best to piece together what exactly is going on in the novels right now....I'm failing hard.

I think I'm just going to wait for Shaft to finish adapting the Final season instead....

...This was a joke. By "After Kizu" I meant "one eternity later".
They will. We hope SHAFT will announce it during broadcast of Hana.
Aaaand you can read it, if you haven't done it yet. Search the internet, there is a full translation of this novel (but I remember there was no author's afterword, though).

EDIT: BTW there is some person standing behind Sodachi. Shinobu? Or unknown girl from the end of Owarimonogatari?
Ah, people suggests to me that it was her reflection in with her old appearance. I think they are right.

Better quality

Kanji on this picture are: 僕達と、育ち続ける物語。

And as I translated them they meant "The story continues to grow with us", though I might be mistaken. And there is definitely wordplay, because in Japanese this phrase sounds like:

Bokutachi to, sodachi tsudzukeru monogatari.

I see Sodachi as the girl in at the end of Ougi Dark, not a late game winner

A childhood friend that wins... doesn't sound very credible

But yeah, if Sodachi really wins the monogatari, 10/10 troll award

I've already felt trolled since Kizu, so it'd be business as usual for me.
Now the Hitagi fans, jeeeeesus Christ the backlash would be immense.

To be fair, Koyomi did more or less cheat on her and even Kaiki said that it might not last to long.

Why does the Sodachi image have telephone poles in the background? My telephone line was installed as a buried line 37 years ago. Is Japan that much behind, or does the VOFAN artist live where telephone poles still exist? BTW, she is quite cute and I hope the future SHAFT animes keep her simple beauty.

Because of earthquakes telephone lines remain over the ground in Japan to be more easily repaired.

We have telephone poles where I live. Is Canada a backwards country too?

No. My point is why show telephone poles at all? Japan has may other items that merit being drawn in character illustration backgrounds, such as trees. The existence of telephone poles depends on the amount of new infrastructure that the phone companies invest. Having poles is a sign of less progress, not a "backward" trend. Besides, new underground lines are also quake resistant, use flexible pipes, and have access points or "manholes" to facilitate maintenance and repairs. Climbing up a pole isn't an easy job. And I don't want to go off-topic.

In anime you see telephone lines evidently because there are a lot of telephone lines in Japan. They have densely populated cities after all. I think that in some places there are underground lines, but I don't think it is always practical and economical to adopt them. And I certainly wouldn't see a place as backward only because the lines are above ground.

Just look at the picture. You have old Sodachi in the mirror in this gray, industrial world. And then on front the new her (if it's her), surrounded by green and happy life general. That and the tagline is rather suggestive.

And nobody discussed the meaning of peacock.
Sometimes this bird represents the false beauty. Beautiful appearance, yet ugly inside.
Maybe this suggests us that even if Sodachi changed her appearance, inside she is the same person.
I believe in this series cutted hair represents character development as a person. A person who started a new chapter of her life, trying to left burden of her past. But could it be that Sondachi never abandoned her thoughts about Araragi? I think that is the case. And this is the reason of her trying to go to the same university as Koyomi and Hitagi.
And remember - we are still have no idea of what was in that letter from the end of Owarimonogatari 1. Maybe we will get some answers.
Also it would be nice to know what happened in the missing parts of Owari 1, about Sodachi's problem and how it was resolved.
