Index had fanservice since the first season and Railgun made it even more explicit and pointless in the anime (like a entire episode for fanservice). So, thats not a hard issue to handle. |

Honestly, why do people always complain about fanservice? Especially in Index, of all shows?
Anyway, loved this episode. The pacing was great, nice crisp animation and music, and the whole thing flowed very well. A great episode. Also, insert obligatory Norio Wakamoto comment her. Seriously didn't expect to hear him here. I feel like rewatching Code Geass.

Touma back to stripping girl's clothes, even in his sleep, didn't think they would show that trick again.
Orsola had nice bluff to get the guys to stand down. Didn't expect that elbow, but the line was great. Nice to see a little bit of Agnese's past with Lucia and Angelene. So for the plan is she like a sacrifice? or is she the embodiment of the actual spell? Didn't understand the Roman Catholics actual plan. Also is there a special reason why only Agnese is compatible? What did Itsuwa's friends say when Touma landed on her? Nib on his earlobe or something like that, don't think Itsuwa would be that direct, but i think she should change her towel tactic. I am liking her more and more though. so Biagio being voiced by Wakamoto was a pleasant surprise. Poor Angelene at the end, she was very cute this ep.

Imagine Breaker! Capable of nullifying the strongest ESP and magic attacks! Also, insta-stripping powers! One thing I don't get though, we saw Angelene and Lucia with pins (probably borrowed from Index) so that's how they restore their clothes, but what about Agnese? It's restored the next time we see her, does she has an extra stowed elsewhere or what?
But seriously, I think this ep is also pretty good. A bit rushed that causes it to lose the tension for a bit, but it also cuts some extraneous part in my opinion, and in general the main important things are conserved, so it's all good. Not much action this episode, hope they're saving it all for the main battle next week. It's been more than half a season since Touma fights against a male antagonist. Against Norio Wakamoto, no less...great to have him here, but I was kinda hoping that they're saving him for bigger, badder villain later. Some funny bits that I like is Touma lampshading how powerful Index's bite is, even more than her 103k grimoires, she could just use it to protect herself against her enemies. Also, when Lucia scolds Angelene for being too obsessed over food, while right in front of her is INDEX...she seems to be looking away too, perhaps it's intentional?

The problem is that there are two spells at work, [Queen of the Adriatic Sea], or "La Regina del Mare Adriático". It is a city-buster spell that only targets Venice to destroy it's structures and eliminate all of it's history and culture. The reason why the Vatican made it so that it can only target Venice was because in case it fell to the enemy hands, the Venetians can't use their own weapon against them. The second is the [Rosary of the Appointed Time], which nobody knows what it does yet. They said a whole bunch of stuff, but it's basically edging her on to take a more direct approach

season 3 if season 3 will cover vol 14 - 18 or maybe hopefully 19 but that will give a death defying cliffhanger so 18 is fine in way ........ their will be a fan service in the beginning of vol 14 aside that. Only blood awaits. Well their will be fan service every now and then I think ...... not sure because the story turns for the better in lots of many ways. well aside that the this episode is fun but I really felt the rush of it. Maybe because when we are waiting for translation it tends to take some time and now they give a huge chunk of it in 1 episode. Well I can't wait for the final battle or climax of the arc.

Whoa, who would have though Orsula-oneechan has shuch a sharp head on her shoulders? To cow three men with a piece of shattered magical armor and the pretence of a weapon powerful enough to do so.
And that elbow stopping Touma from adding another two to his harem was priceless. Next week: Touma Actually HITS A MAN for a change!!

Question of the week: Why does Touma's Imagine Breaker so effective against clothes that were etched a spell, whereas the a magical boat made of ice is completely unaffected?
I mean, he touched at least a wall/ground like... thrice in the previous episode? Is there any explanation in the LN that the boat is not affected by IB (lol?) or was it JC staff / author screw up?

At least, I would expect the area being touched to be at least "affected". I can understand the ship itself wouldn't completely turn into a immovable block of ice, but in this case, I'm left puzzled.

Here's the exact scene from the novel, don't worry it's not a spoiler since this scene was in the episode already. Quote:

Episode was pretty good, even if not as epic as the previous one. Still, I'm giving it a 9/10
Most important stuff first - Touma uses his insta-strip powers on Agnese He wanted to use it later again, but is sadly hold back Also, Angelene is showing promise with her skirt flipping, especially when she said that they were doing it all the time Spoiler for Evviva le mutandine! Evviva il fanservizio! :D :
Also, Itsuwa make some attempts with her wet towels again. When Touma conveniently falls on her, her friends cheer for her to do something, but she's simply too shy Also later, it doesn't go beyond her handing over a wet towel Index however is already looking jealously. They've then started a rescue mission for Agnese to save Venezia, and because it would be a waste if Agnese's brain turned into goo

I was going to ask why Touma's hand didn't work on the ship. It's already been answered.
Putting aside my annoyance that yet another girl has popped into Touma's massive harem I thought this episode was pretty good. The highlight would definitely have to be that voice, that awesome voice. I wasn't expecting to hear it and then boom. Every time I watch an episode I really want to start reading the light novels. I wonder if it's been translated coherently... |
