I have to say there are quite a number of cute female characters in this show yet there are no Megami nor Nyantype scans of them.

They're not appealing enough for the audience and the one actually does isn't having any spotlight.

Thirding this here. I was "what?" "When did this stuff happened?" But, yeah WIT seems to have a thing for doing anime only scenes a lot. AoT was fuil of them if I remember though weren't necessary bad.

I like the concept of drugs here because they further sell how desperate conflict with Vampires are for humans (that and Black Magic which is so brazen being used). The guys wielding authentic Cursed Gears users may not need them unless they are going against Nobles/Elders, but the average soldier will probably find them necessity to keep with Vamps superior physical abilities. It's rare that something with such a negative stigma IRL that is often seen in battle shounen.

Welp another decent episode with the action.

What I liked? A lot of abilities shown especially for the Cursed Gears. Wish Ferid didn't interrupt that fight between Mika and Guren though.
And also this ending...

I guess they got a lot to catch up huh?

Pretty good ep. Though it felt slow on some parts...There were also some pretty awkward moments. Anyway, the last 3 minutes before the ending song played are the best minutes of this episode.

Also,
Spoiler for preview:

The first half was incredibly boring, at least the second half was a little bit better with Guren and how he goes 2 vs 1.

Next week Yuu rampage, I'm going to laugh so hard with that.

So, again half the episode or more was AO fluff. And again, it wasn't good fluff. I would ask why bother using that bad fluff when you could just expand the Mika/Guren fight, but looking at the fight they did have it had like no budget anyway. And the preview for next week was like 80% AO too.

I bet the rampage is going to last like, 10 minutes too, even though it was only like 10 pages in the manga.

I read the manga a bit. So how was the animation quality or pacing of this anime compare to the manga?

Pacing was fine until the last two episodes (and based on previews, next episode), where they inserted a lot of AO fluff that slowed the pace down horribly. Granted, it was only 1-1.5 chapters per episode, but it was still fine.

Animation quality... started off average/fine, but once they started actually fighting it's been a lot of still shots, panning, and staggered sword clashes. Makes DEEN look above average.

Ferid sure is strong. And was expecting more 1vs1 with Guren and Mika but then I remembered the tactics of the Demon Company are all about teamwork to match the vampires natural prowess.

And that cliffhanger with the double stabbing was amazing as usual. Two episodes to go until next Fall.

That doesn't look like a good news to me. How was soundtrack then? Memorable?

Stuck in a cave-in below.. for a short time.
The main event was happening above ground.
Humans vs vampires!
And then we have flashbacks to intervene in between.
Yu was pretty determined to join the fight.
Mika was showing off his skills..
Decent episode with an interesting ending.

... But the preview wasn't Anime Original except for the added fight scenes between Crowley and Yuu.

I think it's the least memorable Hiroyuki Sawano's OST in my memory. It's a standart anime soundtrack.

The QUALITY animation...

Feels like the studio isn't even trying anymore. Even the part where they saved the budget for (Guren vs Mika) wasn't that impressive.

I feel so oddly disconnected to the soundtracks for the past episode.

I'm curious how this show fares in Japan.

I recently watched Episodes 9 and 10.

I'm slightly surprised they're getting such a largely harsh reception here, because they struck me as two of the stronger episodes of the series. Granted, Owari no Seraph has its weaknesses (the action is sometimes interesting, but it's not exactly thrilling or a feast for the eyes) but given what came before the latest two episodes, I figured more people would be pleased to see action picking up with some meaningful fights.

Still, I get the technology/believability criticisms. It's certainly strange to see vampires flying helicopters attacking a human stronghold defending itself with archers. Silly as this may be, though, I honestly found it strangely amusing and engaging. Narm charm, perhaps? I also enjoyed the Krul/Mika flashback scene. Krul's voice is just wondrous, so sensuously seductive.

Going to Episode 10, Mika & Ferid vs. Guren et al had some good action to it. And this episode ended with an excellent cliffhanger. I honestly didn't expect Mika and Yuu's reunion to be like this right off the start.

In my view, UNIVERSAL has been the herald of good things for this show. Since they started showing up on episodes, this show has improved a fair bit and action has picked up a lot.

OP/ED are, but other than that I can't remember a single track.

Pretty sure the arm being cut off was too. But that's still the majority of the preview.

The arm being cut off is also in the manga.
Next episode should be quite faithful to the manga other than the expanded Crowley vs. Yuu.

Quite honestly I don't know how they are going to pace the next two episodes. I really think they should cover a bit more than 1 chapter next week so that they DO get to the end of volume 4 in the last episode. But from what I saw today, uhh.
