They looked like decent episodes. 57 had impressive art and animation while 58 was average.
No idea how good the story is, since I don't know what they were saying, but these episodes looked slow... like they added a lot of "filler" scenes to the already original story, and so even after these 2 episodes the interesting stuff will probably start next week. It would be much better if they kept the story fast paced, instead of wasting time with Sai making out with naruto.

Wow, I loved those episodes. Loving the anime team for picking up the pieces and giving some background to those characters. I seriously like Sora's techniques as well. Sweet character development and animation.

Really some kind of combination here. Get to see Naruto use some pretty solid hand to hand combat in the second half of the episode. Of course then just clashes right with how useless his clones are. If they were actual representations the real Naruto would have died long ago. Sure they go after one hit, but any actual skill seems to vanish. Can't even serve as cannon fodder anymore. It's a problem since if they kept a good level of skill then he'd be able to overwhelm plenty of opponents.

Well at least got some fleshing out of the past of Asuma.

They were good episodes, but I'm just bitter at the fact that it's the same thing that happens again. Isn't it enough for Naruto, Sasuke, Lee, Neji, Haku, and Gaara to have a lonely past? It's kinda overdone IMO.

Action scenes are picking up, Sai showed lots of funny stuff there, but we'll see how good the plot is. Yes, giving background to Asuma and friends was interesting, and that leads to a question: Is this a filler? There might be filler scenes, but is the overall main story here a filler?

It is, none of this happened in the manga. In the manga there are only a few pages dedicated to the temple and the monks.

Yes we have a filler on our hands... but instead of mindless off-plot fillers, we have something related to characters of the main storyline.

Anyone knows a site where I can watch the episodes in streaming? Not youtube.
Some weeks ago i found a site that had the week episode in streaming and I watched it there, but I can't remember which site -.-
Also I can't download them because my computer doesn't stand the new HD episode type.

Is it just me or did Naruto fought better than his usual self in this episode, especially in terms of Taijutsu ? He was litterally playing with Sora taijutsu-wise...

Naruto's Taijutsu has always been good when he's calm, it ha never really been bad. It only appeared bad because usually he fought people on a higher lvl than himself. BUT MAN, his clones....wow just for looks not even cannon fodder, no Taijutsu at all even when their suppose to retain all the skill and ability equal to that of the original if it doesn't require chakra. Only thing that gets divided when clones are made is chakra....

Do you all remember when Naruto used Tajuu Kage Bushin no Jutsu on half-transformed Gaara and pwned him. Well that's the last time I remember this jutsu actually having any significance in a fight, and that's just sad lol

ThoHell Senior Member Join Date: May 2006	I enjoy Naruto and all but... Spoiler: Only good part of this whole special was Sai being oblivious to his actions. Character setup + back ground of being outcast and what not (out of the norm characters) is starting to play it self out, actually it has played it self out long ago with the like 20th character that had the same back ground setup. Bad thing about spoilers is that the characters seem to revert back to their prier self before previous experiences, meaning they get dumber. All the characters after these few years have grown and improve, but yet Naruto really hasn't even though he was out training harder than them. This is all pathetic, nothing knew and same O same Old. Mass shadow clone is completely played out. They server next to no purpose except for awing the eye. Even though his chakra is divided evenly among all the clones, his fighting skill remains the same through out. They all get destroyed so easily, like they have no real hand to hand combat skill or act the cannon fodder. Each one of those clones think like his real self, and don't want to get destroyed. Naruto has showed time and time again that his hand to hand combat skills are fairly good (hardly uses chakra), but his clones seem to not have any (even though gather experience is the same for each one except for amount of chakra). Basically I'm saying that those mass shadow clones should really kick ass, but they don't...........some contradictive play here??

Spoiler for some thoughts: We get to see Chiriku and a younger Asuma (badass character design). And yeah, does that one guy suck or did Naruto's taijutsu get a power up? If his taijutsu did indeed improve, at least the Anime (surprisingly) is showing fruits of Jiraiya's training. Stupid Kishi. In any case I'm glad they're giving life to characters that had very little, no development in the manga (Asuma, Chiriku). Thats the ONLY reason why I'm tolerating watching these fillers. __________________ in the shadows i lurk... but nevertheless there i am...
