I like this a lot. Seemingly simple theme and very slow-moving story, but has your attention the whole time.

Yup,same here. I'm not expecting it to be as good as ef but just coming close to it will be more than enough for me.

Has the author, Hazuki Matcha, produced any works prior to One Week Friends?

Just wow, this made my spring complete alongside with Mushishi.... A heartwarming series that can fill you in instead of the usual harem/ecchi trope out there.

Easily one of my fave this spring

She's only 23 so unsurprisingly, nope.

In fact, yes. Her previous work is Kimi to Kamihikouki to, which is also a school life/slice of life/romance manga similar to Isshuukan friends.

I wasn't sure to pick up this one this season but, I'm glad I decide to watch it, the first episode is really good.

My mistake, I hadn't noticed that one. She must have still been in high school when she published it.

It might be just a convenient plot device, but down the line it could have some kind of psychological (or magical?) reason for said condition. It is a feature (not a bug) of the human brain to forget, so it is not far fetched to think that she is deleting all those memories herself; weirder things happen in real life (like multiple personality disorder where memories of one personality can't be acceded by other personalities).

She says she's okay with remembering family.
So one solution is for her to have sex with the MC and marry him. Then he be part of the family.

...Having gotten to know him within the space of one week? That's asking a lot.

According to MAL, it was first published on October 2008, so yeah. Quite young and already quite talented.

Usea diary...or a film...adam sandler could do it over a period of several month, even when the memory only last 1 day? The MC at least fare better, lasting a week...

Stop mentioning that actor already. It's unsettling.

Well then, I liked the first episode. It struck the cord, so I'm fine with adapting to art style.

"Be my friend!"
"That's impossible."
"Then come with me to a city known for its shadiness on the other side of the ocean even though we're minors and can't possibly even have the money for that!"
"...I'm okay with that."

(really, we're just saying all this because we want to avoid the feelz that are clearly going to befall al of us before this series is over )

Especially when attempting to compare him to the really nice guy that is the MC in this show.

The mangaka's art style has a certain appeal, evoking innocence and youth, equally so in her previous manga, Kimi to Kami Hikouki to, which is also a wonderful read (but way too short).

Finally got round to watching the anime, and much as I'd been a big fan of the manga way before the news of its adaptation came out, I couldn't bring myself to fully enjoy the 1st episode. It seemed fragmented and disconnected at times, something to do with the screenplay I guess. The ending was particularly good though, Hase's wholeheartedness was really delivered here, much better than in the manga.

Watched the first episode without reading the manga, and only vague memories of the synopsis. My heart was not ready for this. I really like the characters and I hope a happy ending can be found.

If they are married then he will technically be family so she shouldn't forget him. The perfect plan.

I don't really think memory loss cares much for technicalities.
