Legend of Zelda Manga

Has anyone ever read the LoZ Manga series? I thought they were terrific and captured the story very well. A prime example of a video game to anime/manga transition.

In case anyone is interested, here's a link to the scans:

Exclamation Zelda manga licensed

It looks like Viz has licensed at least one of the Akira Himekawa-drawn Legend of Zelda manga. No official Viz announcement or cover images yet, but it was on ANN and has turned up listed on Amazon, RightStuf and a few other places. Since Amazon lists it at 2 volumes, my best guess is that it will be Ocarina of Time, hopefully with the rest to come eventually (Majora's Mask, Oracle of Seasons & Oracle of Ages, A Link to the Past and Four Swords Plus). Or perhaps the entire line covering multiple games will be treated as a single series?

Anyways, these manga go well beyond being mere game-to-manga adaptations, expanding and adding depth and drama (as well as original side stories) to the core plot of said games, so I for one am definitely looking forward to them.

I read the Ocarina of Time version only, but I was well satisfied with the way they adapted it. Plus, more heroic poses of Nintendo's great Elvaan swordsman.

According to the notes in the Viz-licensed Ocarina of Time manga, a Twilight Princess manga is currently being serialized in Japan; not sure in what magazine, as I don't have the book on hand right now...

Actually, I made a mistake - the manga says Phantom Hourglass is being serialized, not Twilight Princess...

Legend of zelda manga review?

I searched the forum and only found one thread about it and it didn't really have any reviews for this series.

Spoiler for Linky to zelda manga:

Thats the link to the legend of zelda mangas. Found it while looking around "where to buy manga" thread. Has anyone read these and if so I'd appreciate your opinion if they were good or not ^n_n^

I had planned to give the LoZ manga to a friend for Christmas two years ago and I still haven't given it to her... ^_^''' I think I'm just gonna keep it for myself.
