The twisted relationship of Rayott and Kapel is revealed. I don't think that Kapel wants his death. If so, she would have sabotaged his mold by now and she did tell him that there was no need to apologize.

And the relationship between Rayott and Hammond is revealed. Hammond needs to get off his pedestal. Rayott killed the guy who helped them. The guy (Rayott's master) happened to have turned into a demon and was about to kill Ray.

Something has to happen to Hammond (blond guy). He is being way to righteous about it. He probably is going to be used by his boss who is working with the sabotagers. For some reason, I don't like this guy (Hammond).

And Rayott is being way too emo about it. He needs counseling imo.

Is the light novel series ended or is it still ongoing?

I would like to ask what you think of the cartoon Strait Jacket.ストレイトジャケットin Japanese,
It is based on a manga of the same name, I do not know if this manga is published in France or in the States
But for those who do not know this animation let’s have a presentation:

We are at the beginning of the century somewhere in northern Europe,
An experiment combining physics and witchcraft was successful in capturing and storing energy coming from magic . This boundless energy is widely used in industries, food processing, construction, pharmaceuticals, medicine ...
There was only a small drawback, this energy used too widely causes a mutation, it must be prevented by concentration and contained by a kind of armor, The “Strait Jacket” also called Mold (モールド). Once this transformation has taken place, the person is considered legally dead. It turns into a lethal monster, a Mazoku (魔族).
There is an Authority to manage this energy,
Mahokanrikyoku (魔法管理局), and an intervention group responsible for the elimination of Mazoku, the Tactical sosa list ...

how was it typical?

was she speaking like.....a female?

Nah. She was more like "Get a clue you idiot. Live your life first and then die.". There were dead bodies all over the place (mostly police officers fighting that demon) and our hero was thinking that being buried under rubble would be enough to soothe any revenge leanings that Kapel had.

Oh I had completely forgotten about this series. I had watched one OVA of it and then kinda of forgot about it -____-..well I'm glad there's a thread in here, I guess I'll check out the second one. I know I was really intrigued by the first OVA, the storyling seemed to have a lot of potential to work with and the animation was pretty good as well.

4 months since I've seen the previous episode, and any interest in the characters have faded...

Glasses-woman played basically no role at all this episode, except shout and shout, so let's put her aside.

The whole episode was really about that blond(?) haired guy.
It was pretty immersing. Not really the story, just the action and violence.
First part of the episode was kind of boring, where we see the reason he is working as one of those monster destroyers and why he wants to take revenge against the protagonist.
Then the rest was pretty interesting, where his sister dies and he starts shooting everyone involved with the continuous appearances of demons. Then he faced off against the protagonist, became a demon himself (this scene was pretty intense, where he shattered and... well... yeah), and gets killed.

Oh yeah, that little girl was there too. But she doesn't do anything or what, so, meh...

And it's over... Didn't really find the story itself interesting, but the action was fun, so time well spent. Never going to read the novels though.

Poor guy. Eventhough I did hate his guts and felt a little sorry for him, his downfall was fun to watch.

Spoiler for ep.3:

Finding out that Hammond was betrayed by his boss who was like "family" must have hurt. Then finding out that his boss was involved with the incident that killed his sister. Final straw. They do say "It's always the quiet ones..." This guy flipped. It was like first his values went and he became a mass murderer executing the terrorist group. Then he went after Rayott for killing the other man he idolized (in self defense mind you) and got owned. Then he lost his humanity and body by becoming a demon and in the end got killed by Rayott.

In one episode, this poor guy lost everything due to skewed values decreasing his ability to recover.

Moral: Don't mess with the emo guy with the loli.

Nice action scenes and the blood flowed nicely too.

I wish we could see more of this. I have the feeling that something was cut out because of the manga covers in the thread.

Is the manga ongoing or is it done?

It's a light novel. I'm not sure... It doesn't look like it is done, but it doesn't seem like there has been a new book for almost a year, so I guess it is finished...

Well, just finished with the series. Since everyone tagged all spoilers, I shall do the same thing for my opinion.

Spoiler for nothing:

Straight Jacket did give me an impact for its artwork, worth-crediting. I like it when everything goes so violent (limbs being cut and...yeah...blood spilt out like from the water pipe). And I enjoy how the blone hair guy turned into one of the demon while trying to make his revenge against the lead hero. It tells us not to be impulsive and sometimes we need to let go out past.

The story isn't what I've expected it to be. Maybe it's too short because they tend to cramp everything up into an approx one hour show.

Despite with the metal-guy-firing-slow-magic-powers things, this short series is worth a watch. I do hope they can come out with a full 12 or 26 eps show to address the character's personality, past and relationships.

Anyway, thumbs up
