Omg, thank you! I thought it was just me. XD It looks a little odd... It's like her face isn't proportionate to her head, or something? (It's mostly her eyes and nose that're throwing it off for me.)

Spoiler for New 3 minute PV, a little NSFW on the first minute:
BTW, the movie will also premiere in Montreal's Fantasia Film Fest on July 19 to Aug 7. |

I love the new version of the main theme for Blood-C during the first minute of that PV. Sounds so pretty and sad. (A big plus for me, being that I consider the BEST thing about Blood-C to be it's musical score, personally.)
That PV was cool, although some scenes weren't exactly up to par with the rest, be it design-wise or animation-wise. Also, WTF @ 0:39-041?! XD

So um, this came out in July. Haven't heard a peep here since the end of June.
Sup with this? Inquiring minds want to know. Specifically, if I hated the series and hoped for something redeeming, should I care about this? Does everyone die in a ridiculously gory fashion and nothing gets resolved again? |

It's a movie... So, unless you were fortunate enough to be in Japan at the time and understood Japanese perfectly, you wouldn't be able to comment on it.
Meaning to say, don't expect much chatter from the international crowd until the DVDs or Blu-rays have been released. |

It was also screened in Montreal but that time has passed as well.

I'm eagerly waiting for a U.S. release for this title, though lord knows when that will be.
My primary concern is how Saya will be portrayed in the movie. I wouldn't mind if she's a bit darker and more gloomier, with a more serious attitude. I just hope it won't come to a point where she is like the "Blood The Last Vampire" Incarnation. I never liked her in that one since she was more of an Anti-Hero (and personally, I can't really stand most Anti-Heroes. They are really little better than the main villain.). I especially was surprised when she drew her sword out on Watanuki in one of the trailers, then again maybe she was being extra cautious. Last edited by T-6000; 2013-02-27 at 19:07. |

Although I hated the tv series, I gotta admit I liked this movie quite a bit. They basically got rid of everything that was out of place in the series: no slice of life, no cartoonish monsters, no Saya being clumsy moe, etc. In this movie Saya displays a personality similar to the original Saya's from the first movie, and now she's at least competent enough to actually protect those she cares about, something she utterly failed at in the series. The script is more streamlined (doesn't rely in exposition as much as the tv series did), and the new director achieved a mood that fits the tone of the story.
I suppose a negative criticism might be that the plot is very simplistic, but the Blood franchise as a whole has always been like that so I don't really mind. All in all, I wasn't disappointed.
