The attack on Earth is quite obviously the "epilogue" of ME3. Bioware makes their games in a very specific three-act formula.

Act one, introduction, party recruitment, all of that. Act two, the wider world opens up, build your armies, do sidequests, etc. Act three the epilogue and final battle.

Bioware always does this.

The episodic approach Bioware has in it's games to me makes the overall game more tighter and well paced by having the game segmented in terms of plot and progression. Part of the reason why I loved ME2 and Dragon Age's presentation/plot even if the sci-fi and fantasy elements were run of the mill.

I thought the Earth invasion was the intro of the game, as it follows directly after the events of Arrival. Shepard's only reason to be on Earth is to be on trial...

I agree with the basic 3 Act structure of the games (this basic structure is seen throughout a lot of entertainment), but an epilogue is not an act, it is an epilogue. The epilogue of ME2 was whether or not Shepard survives and his/her encounter with TIM and the corresponding voice over, not the final confrontation with the Collectors.

So, the final confrontation with the Reapers will be the final act/finale, and the epilogue will be whether or not Shepard survives (etc).

Not always. It was supposed to come out this holiday season, but it ended up having the delay announced last may, if I'm not mistaken.

And not surprising either, ME3 is an established name now, it's name alone will sell regardless of the holiday season boost.

And since they're also launching The Old Republic in the holliday, which has the same target audience, to launch both games at the same time would be bad planning.

Sooooo.... David Silverman of marketing just said they are having a new round of voting for FemShep. Number 5 won the previous poll conclusively, but the huge amount of comments that said they liked the hairstyle but wanted a different hair colour, has resulted in this.

#5 now in four different hair colours....

Vote here. The poll ends by PAX 2011.

The fair/brown looks the best to me.

I'm surprised they did it this way seeing as some of the other styles would have looked cool with different coloured hair too and besides that it look to me like quite a few people voted for #5 because she had blond hair.

Still its nice they're letting us choose at all.

I, for one, voted for 5 because the hairstyle was more appealing to me. Now, given a choice, it's red all the way.

Blond is dead last, with Dirty-Blond dead second-last. Red is currently in the lead, with about 25% more votes than Black.

Glee!

That style actually looks good with black hair. It looked pretty tart-ish with blond.

I take exception to this remark. Maybe bro gamers would like both games, but screw another soul-sucking MMORPG. Bioware, I am disappoint. Make your game devs go work on single player RPGs instead of purple-pixel-poopsocking.

Your everlasting rage does not change that TOR targets the same audience as the players who play Mass Effect.

You know, the players who love a story driven game with lotsa dialog set in space.

Oh, c'mon. It's The Old Republic. Surely that's gotta count for something...

I hope it's something tangible, like an alternate ending or something. Not just a 'ploink' achievement.

Risky, but interesting. The world isn't always puppies and bunnies.

Yes! I'm probably among the few, but I really like banter between squad-mates.

Another damn. Even though exploring the same square of land was not that entertaining after a while, it did help give the galaxy a feeling of greatness.

Despite all the whining, it makes sense from both angles. You destroy collector base, Illusive Man has a bone to pick. You give him collector base, he gets indoctrinated (because remind the the last time working with live reaper tech worked out well?)

Lovely dodging the answer while they're at it. Still voting for no myself. On the flipside:

If they do this, they might as well show Tali's too. The question about what Tali looks like is an extension of the question of what quarians look like. If they show other quarians, the mystery is partially gone already, and not showing Tali's would just be trolling.

Though the Tali-fan rage (oh dear, risky wordplay ) would be worth it.

As long as 'time' means 'do it in order XYZ' and not 'do it in five minutes or reload' I'm fine with it. I hate timers.

Pfft. Bring it. So far I've seen nothing really cry-worthy in Mass Effect.

Oooh, risky since it'd require an entire replay from ME1 up, but interesting if they do.
