Well you better get ready because this is going to be a looooooooong arc.

The Hachiou is basically the OSNF of the armed ground.

The OSNF themselves have been around for like 300 chapters and their numbers went from 10 to 7.
That's like 1 master gone per 100 chapters, since they've been around for like 300.

If the Hachiou are going to follow the same formula they aren't going anywhere anytime soon.

The Hachiou arc is going to be a long one.

I was all like, "Hell Yeah! Finally something is happening to Kenichi where he'll have to make it with his own power!" However, I remembered I was reading HSDK and that euphoria went away when he was saved by the masters at the end of the chapter...

It was the same for me.

Kenichi wasn't even able (actually more like "not allowed by the author") to do a thing against guy who clearly weren't even really strong. Since they planned to stop them so early he didn't really have to play the "bait" or anything. I'm also seriously starting to doubt the author want to let him grow :|.

Hoboy, is this gonna be the final battle against YAMI? Seems the masters and the disciples have both arrived. I wonder if Syun is planning on ending the manga in this arc, it definitely feels like a final battle of sorts.

Though, I'm curious about where's Hayato, did Gannosuke defeat him? That would really suck, though somehow I doubt it. But then. why is he back at the base? Or is he?

And Saiga doesn't look the least bit worried, makes me wonder what's about to happen. Man, I really can't wait for the next chapter now.
