Software to open animate gifs.

Hey guys. I used to have windows XP and in there there was a software that would play animate gifts and open the files. However in Vista i cant find that future. Also I have tried diffrent softwares such as Adobe and Roxio to try to play animated gifs but although they open the file, they dont actually show it animated.

I was wondering if you guys know any software that does play animated gifs.

Can't you do it with the Windows Picture and Fax Viewer? I can view my animated gifs on there.

Thats the thing. XP had that, but Vista doesnt.

If all you want to do is view animated gifs, just use a browser. Go to the file menu, choose the "open file" option, and point to the file you wish to view.

If by "open the files" you mean open the gif in an image editor that enables you to operate on the separate layers, I use the open-sourced GIMP for that. I'm on Linux, but there's are Windows and Mac versions as well. Open the gif in the GIMP, then open the Layers dialog. You can then manipulate and edit the layers.

the problem with web browser is that you have to open each gif file seperately each time. I am looking for something that i can just click " next" and it goes to the next gif file.

In Windows Vista there should be a Windows Photo Gallery Viewer, which is basically just a rename of the Pic/Fax Viewer but with more effects that will rape your RAM.

yeah i have that. Its a decent software, but Roxio' image software is alot better.
Also Photo gallery only views gift files, it doesnt play them. Thanks alot for the help .
