Ack! When I came back and scrolled up after reading your reply, it was spinning the other direction, but then I looked away and lost it again, lol. It felt very weird; I'm guessing it all depends on which leg you perceive is higher than the other.... well, I can't seem to get the other perception back at will.

WAIT, IS THAT A NAKED WOMAN? WOOT!

( Means I use the HENTAI side of the brain more often. )

Anyway, I'm a lefty, and I've known that for a while. But I was pretty freaked out once I closed my eyes and could see her turning clockwise for a while. That's one interesting gif you got there.

I see her turning clockwise which makes sense because I already know I am right brained. I can't get it turn the other way but maybe I am just not trying hard enough, haha.

Counter-clockwise, though it went clockwise after I voted. And now, it goes back and forth. So, half and half would be my real choice I guess.

At first, I thought I saw the picture rotating counter-clockwise but after doing the tricks the picture turned clockwise. So I guess I'm half-half.

I see it clockwise, and it's still turning that way! I can't get it to anticlockwise.

The trick to flipping the rotation is seeing whether or not the angled leg is spinning (or other feature) going

Left--->Right

or

Right--->Left

Basically it depends on which side of the body you use as the "starting point." The leg will either swing starting from one half of the pic to the other half.

Basically, if you want it to go clockwise chant:

"Right, Left: Right, Left: ad nauseum."

And vice versa.

If you focus on her ass, you can see her spin clockwise and counter-clockwise in succession.

Both directions, no problem. But I don't know how I'm doing it.

Seriously, it's starting to drive me insane. I can never see one rotation being mutually exclusive now.

Sooooooo, how do I look at it to get the lights to turn on? Priorities, you know since the direction of spin is irrelevant to the architectural appreciation

My guess? The crossed legs. You can never tell which thigh is "in front."

EDIT: The figure also bobs up and down. This sets a "rhythm" that forces you to do a right-left or left-right two beat interpretation. It pretty much forces you to process only two frames of reference.

This was actually in the newspaper, giving a link to it, but it was much slower.

I actually had it going half-half at first, then now going anti-clockwise. Though, it's rather easy to change when it's slower, imo.

(Btw, when you say 'half-half' you do mean by going a quarter clockwise and then a quarter anti right?)

For those who are able see it spinning anti-clockwise, how does it look like? And those that are half-half, how are the clockwise and anti-clockwise views different?

No, I don't think that is what is meant by "half-half". My understanding is that it means you can sometimes see it moving clockwise and other times see it moving anti-clockwise.

Some people can make it change direction as they wish, or at least they can make it change direction if they concentrate.

How does it look like? It looks exactly the same execpt it is moving in the other direction. Other than that, there is no difference in the image.

It is after all just an optical illusion, the brain perceives the image as turning one way or the other.
