I love the long codec talks, pretty much if keep talking to the guys in the codec you've got a really great story here, unlike what "REVIEWERS" are f*cking saying about it.

On a sidenote, Rising contains more references to knights as Raiden goes from White Knight to Black Knight. I think this is why Kojima nicknamed them White Raiden and Black Raiden. Black Raiden refers to the Black Knight who is a corrupted version of the White Knight. In Raiden's case it could be his darker personality and his desire for revenge.

The knight's protection included protection for the feet that looked like heels although Kojima made the feet areas more useful.

Beat the game and I'm doing extra stuff now, so I'll share my final thoughts:

Spoiler for Final boss spoilers:

If there's ever a sequel in this spin-off series I would certainly play it, the only thing I would really want improved in this game is a better way to defend yourself though. Parrying and dodge slashing is quite limited and not easy to master I find.

I thought more of the Armament haki or Tekkai from One Piece myself actually, since Armament haki actually turns Luffy's skin black and Tekkai makes the user incredibly sturdy.

for those who finished the VR missions i was wondering... is there a mission where you could battle metal gear ray instead over and over instead of going over it on the story mode?

That is saddening... oh well i guess I might as well start finishing the VR mission before tackling the revengeance difficulty. Btw, is the armor breaker useful on that difficulty or should I stick with the stun blade?

I haven't gotten either yet, but base on my experiences on hard- all of the tougher enemies that give me problems are those with armor so yeah I would think so.

On the other hand, you can also produce the same effect with Bloodlust if you don't mind the slower speed.

I remembered Mortal Kombat's Jax since his arms were giant and went black. Heck, here we control a guy named Raiden who ironically has a Fatality involving freezing the opponent.

Uuuuuuuuugh.... just finished ranking 1st in all the VR Missions.... unlocked the High-Frequency Long Sword, High-Frequency Wooden Sword, Infinite Wigs A/B, and the Stun Blade...

Just to collect the 7 Left Arms I'm missing... then I'll move onto Hard Story Mode.... Very Hard afterwards.... then.... REVENGEANCE~

SilverSyko Okuyasu the Bird Join Date: Sep 2009 Location: Alberta, Canada Age: 32	Beat the game and I'm doing extra stuff now, so I'll share my final thoughts: Spoiler for Final boss spoilers: Mmmmm...as epic in scale as the final boss battle was, something just felt strange to me about fighting an American senator that goes Hulk with hardening abilities. I know Solidus was an ex-president, but at least his appearance in MGS2 gave you an impression where you could take him seriously. I honestly found that a bit harder to do with Armstrong. That said though, Metal Gear Excelsus was awesome and monstrous. Probably the biggest Metal Gear ever, and it's insect-like quadruped form was quite new for a mostly bipedal series of mechs. (Peace Walker doesn't count.) If there's ever a sequel in this spin-off series I would certainly play it, the only thing I would really want improved in this game is a better way to defend yourself though.
