I'm not sure if all the retail copies are the fixed version or not. The problem should be noticeable even if you don't have a 5.1 setup - on two speakers, it would probably force all the vocals to come out of the right speaker.
I do have my replacements in already, and I was rather surprised that they sent me two copies upon request, since they never answered any of my requests for it nor asked for any proof of purchase. (The second copy was a proxy-buy for someone overseas.)
