When.. did Chuck Norris become a "2chan" reference? He's been a "running gag line" since the 70s, parodied and self-parodized himself. He's become part of the lore in WoW (oye my head). 2chan may have adopted him but he's certainly been a "meme" long before they laid this Web thing on top of the Internet.

Both he and Keith Carradine almost always had contract clauses that insisted they never lose onscreen (of course, they were usually playing good guys).

We're waaaaaaaaaaaay off topic, but Keith Carradine was in one of my favorite weird 70's martial arts movies, I think it was called Circle of Iron. Ranks highly on my unintentional comedy scale.

I really think Avacado Burger just meant that the Chuck Norris thing was all over 2chan as well. Obviously Chuck Norris is the (as Sayaka would say) overused joke "of the year".

I'll take Chuck Norris for $400 .... yes, that was my first contact with any material associated with Zen (Keith's movie... Circle of Iron.. MIrror... crud gotta look it up). It was damned funny but also expressed some basic Zen ideas (which actually tends to involve a lot of humor).

My aggravation is that the Chuck Norris meme has overrun WoW to the extent the developers have even put weapons into the game named after Chuck Norris (large bowie knife thing strangely enough ).

In a vain attempt to retopic (as if PPD *HAD* a topic), hoping that ep 24 was kind of a rest stop and the last two eps are more up to par. I hear the last ep is fan service heavy but I've tried to avoid finding out too much.

Random: has anyone figured out the lyrics to the entire Ichijou Festival Song? (the one that parodies the classic "obon" dance tune among others)

well no ... thats why i'm pining for the subs. with this show in particular the subs are kind of vital to catch half the jokes since i'm only "second yr japanese" language skilled

I C. It's true that the subs only contain 1/2 the jokes (more or less). Then again, PPD is one of the more "F'n Difficult" projects to fansub due to all the references. =P

Speakin of japanese, I should start brushing up on that. XD

EDIT: Since I decided to get a Wikipedia account, I added "Pani Poni Dash!" on the Chuck Norris section. =P Feel free to change it if inaccurate. Tee hee.

Wow..... talk about a thread going from high gear to dead..... has someone subbed the last two episodes and I just missed it? (goes off to check all the usual sources)

update (at least what gg website is saying, quote):
PPD
Ep 25: NEW FUCKING RAW
Ep 25 Notes: Proof-reading?
Ep 26: TL
Ep 26 Notes: TL/Research

Heh.... I'll certainly say this must be one of the most painful series to properly fansub -- gambatte, yo....

25 is now at QC.. I should update that sometime, lol...

8e3's raw had audio screwed in 80 differnet directions, then Aska's raw came at 27.693 fps but was labelled VFR but actually wasn't... then the usual encoder is going to Europe this week so we had to switch to an alternate...

That's cuz the series itself requires a LOT more time to get right especially with all the parodies involved.

...except it's been nearly 2 months since Ep 24 was released (excluding PPD Ep 1 DVD version). I wonder if the project is still continuing. -_-

Well, not typically a question you should ask, but I will say that I heard a gg staff member make a comment about it being in progress just the other day. So, don't give up hope!

It'll be done when it's done.

For the time being, read some Yotsuba&!

That's what amazon.co.jp recommend to me when I purchased vol 1-7 of the manga >_>

Edit: O and what relentlessflame said. >_>

Yotsuba& <3 Read all the chapters on that so far. =) I wonder what's more "Omega Kawaii".

Sorry if the question sounded a bit rude, but I was just curious, since there seems to be a PPD fansub (could also be Oyasumi as well since gg is more up to date on it) like every 2-3 weeks or so. Just askin. =)
