Alright just read chapter 4 and I have to say this is getting better and better for me.

I don't want to spoil anything but Shiji really proved himself this time and Asuka...lets just say her weapon suits her personality well...

Yea i got that same vibe from it too and I believe if they keep this plot reminiscent of Persona 3, this could turn into a fairly nice story, so I’ll keep reading it.

Nothing much happened in Chapter 5. Some foreshadowing and hints but a calm chapter overall.

Rei shows her cute side in this chapter though.

Wow, this is the best doujin I've ever read. And I'm not just saying that because Evangelion is my fav. anime show. Whoever made this is a fucking saint. I wish more doujin was like this.

In any case, I think you mean manga since mangas and doujins have their differences.

If you enjoyed this and looking for more elsewhere, take a look at Evangelion ReTake. Story takes place within the same universe as the anime and it gets a strong recommendation from many who have read it, myself included.

Yea, Like Tormenk said in his post above. I think you have Re-Take confused with Gakuen Datenroku.

Re-Take = Doujin or Fan made manga

Gakuen Datenroku = Official Manga owned and made by Gainax.

No harm done of course we just don't want to confuses people here...

I'm trying to read this but I can't stop thinking about everything I know from the original anime and EOE. I'm trying to start fresh on the characters but they are already too deeply burned into my mind as how they were presented in the original series. Is anyone else having the same difficulties? Anyone that has seen all of the series and actually remember what happened that is.

I imagine you're not alone. As a matter of fact I had the same problem when trying to read Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE because I kept thinking Card Captor Sakura. The trick is to remember that it's all an Alternate World and not viewing this as a negative but a positive experience. Look at the differences in both stories and point them out if anything it would be like trip down memory lain.

There is nothing wrong with comparing stuff form the original people do this with manga and anime adaptations all the time. This is what makes reading/watching AU's so much fun...That is unless you're on of the hardcore fans who hate it right off the bat because it's not like the original...

Normally I would have very hard time with spinoff stories, but, weirdly, I am fine with this. Best proof is that I got a thought I had never imagined I might have after reading ch.5:

Also, does it indicate how much time it's passed since chapter 4 and 5? I think Shinji still refers to Asuka as Soryu in chapter 4 and it seems they were arguing by first name in 5?

5 It doesn't actually say how much time passed between the two chapter it just says that the school was holding their yearly Christmas festival so it's safe to say chapter 5 was in December. Well if I have to guess I'd say the time between chapter 4 and 5 was about one or two mouths...Anyway I wouldn't think to much of it once you start adding too much logic to manga and anime it stops being fun.

Okay Chapter 6 is out!

While not much happens in this chapter we do get a few bits of interesting information.

Well anyway time for a summery.

Spoiler for chapter 6:

-The Chapter starts with a meeting of the remaining angels in an abandon building. Their faces hidden in the shadows of the moonlight as they plan their next move and form the sound of things they are going to start taking the offensive...

-Next we see Shinji having breakfast with Kaji. (whom we find out is a newspaper reporter in this world) Shinji asks why he's been hanging around the house lately and did he get fired. Kaji response is that works has been kind of slow.

-Shinji then notices that the news has started investigating more into the cases of missing people that have been happening lately. Kaji then warns Shinji to not to take too many midnight strolls anymore seeing how things have been getting dangerous around their area...wow If he only knew.

-Next we have Shinji and Kaworu in P.E. playing basketball on opposite teams. Shinji is spaced out and didn't Kaworu coming his way while attempting to block him Shinji knocks Kaworu over and they both fall to the ground. Kaworu admires how Shinji acted so quickly while Shinji thinks he's inferior compared to Kaworu. Kaworu seems to pick up on this but says nothing and takes his shot.

-Later in the locker room Shinji notices a injury on Kaworu's arm form when they both fell and tells him to he should get checked out. Kaworu says it's no big deal but Shinji insists he goes anyway. This is when Shinji notices how odd it is that Kaworu never has a scratch on him despite always being injured battle.

-However before Shinji can say anything Sazuhara shows up and asks if Kaworu's familiar with some new online game called "Apocalypse of Night" and asks about his character name and class. Kaworu response by saying Fallen Angel, Tabris. Which must something great because Sazuhara tells Shinji he should start playing too because that means Kaworu would join their party too.

-Now during computer lap Shinji asks Kensuke about the Magi's Prophecy they talked about before so he sends him the link. After reading it Shinji asks Kaworu had he read it too. Kaworu then tells him that someone in their organization made it and they use it as a log to track the progress of the angels. Of course no outside know what it really is this makes Shinji wonder how many people really know whats going on and more importantly what exactly is Kaworu...

Edit: Also the translator has seem to have made an error when translating the title of the series making it too literal.

So it is not "Neon Genesis Evangelion Academy Record of the Fallen Angel" or "Neon Genesis Evangelion Academy Record of Havens Decent " but rater "Neon Genesis Evangelion Academy: Apocalypse"

Well requesting another change in the threads name please...

[DOT].L Delightfully lost... Artist Join Date: Dec 2004 Location: All over the place...	Chapter 4: Spoiler for chp 4: I didn't expect characters to be dropping their signature lines already. This chapter certainly took a rather different route in dealing with Shinji's classic "I mustn't run away!" monologue. I couldn't help but break out into a little smile. As Dark Wing said in his post above, Asuka's EVA (whip) fits her "Call Me Mistress!" personality quite well. Shinji suffers his first "Are you stupid!?" comment from Asuka in this series. I'm having a hard time grasping with Kaworu's new personality. He's been completely retooled from the original. Wonder how his identity in the television series will play out in this manga.

Spoiler for summery: -Well it's Christmas and NERV Academy is having their yearly festival and Shinj's class gets to re-enact the Nativity Story but you'll never guess who plays the Virgin Mary...Thats right our very own Asuka. -Rei seems to have taken a liking to role in the play "The Stable Horse"... -Yea they introduce the Class Rep and Kenj! Kenj start flirting with Masoto right off the back. She about beat his face in until Shinji and Kaworu. We also find out a bit more about the little girl from the last chapter. -As it turns out she has a twin brother and they're both up and coming choir singers Cecilia and Makoto De Nuovo...wait loli-shota twins with European backgrounds...Never a good sign in anime/manga now a days. (If any of you have seen SnS or Black Lagoon Season 2 you know what I mean.) -Anyway back in class the girl who was to play the Angel Gabriel gets hurt so Asuka tells Rei to do it and makes Shinji take the role as Stable Horse basically telling him to do it right or else.(lol at the horns) After some words form Shinji all for it. -Sadly during the scene with the meeting between Mary and Gabriel. Masoto pushes Shinji on to the stage and he ends up knocking everything over. The next page shows him with a bandage over his cheek form went punched him... -Also as to insult to injury. Rei then show up and Shinji is thinking "ZOMG CONFESSION!" but it turns out she just wanted the horse head back...poor Shinji. __________________
