I looked back in the thread.....I forgot about the picture where it looks like she takes on the same marching bandish uniform that Sheryl and Ranka wear, thus giving her the same king of gloves that they show Minmay passing the microphone to. But still, seriously why make a tease out of it? :/

I saw it as more of a promotion to set up the stage for the next Macross idol. They wouldn't want to show Mina singing on stage, players should get to that point themsleves when the game is out.

The new, revised Macross Chronicle take TV as canon, and separates the movies off into Never-Never Land, along with DYRL and Macross II... and it's endorsed by Kawamori. And yet, in the intro the new, revised Macross Chronicle, Kawamori states once again that ALL versions of the story are equally valid, and the "truth" lies somewhere between them all. So yeah...your guess is as good as mine.

I'll go with Kawamori, as far as interviews go, he has been consistent. I read that timeline on MW and it doesn't make sense, no matter how hard BigWest tries. I think he just gave them the 'Uh, sure, go ahead...' Which is why I was wondering about the game. Thanks for the reply!

Hm, Macross Chronicle wouldn't have anything to say about how the triangle went in the series? Eh, probably not. <le sigh>
I still love that non-canon ending from the...uh, art book? Mecha book? Whatever, the one where Alto ends up being Sheryls private pilot while she jets all over the galaxy giving concerts. And as for the real canon ending? We'll see when the next series comes out. I'd love to hear that the game is the "next" official thing, but I guess that would suck a bit, too, since we non-Japanese speaking westerners will never get to enjoy it. Unless someone does an unofficial translation, I swear I'd even get a PS3 for that. <as soon as I'd have the money ^^>

I don't think any of the next Macross series were 'canon', M7 took elements from both SDFM and DYRL. Some general facts remained intact, but a lot of the stories we knew from the past were altered. I like to go by Kawamori's logic, this isn't the first time he said what he did regarding continuity and it's the only way it makes sense to me.
I think with the Chronicles it's just BigWest trying to make sense and ending up making an actual mess out of it. Yot-chan, they dumped the M7 movie in the movies timeline too, right? That in itself makes little to no sense since that movie is pretty much just a long episode. And Macross II is in the same timeline. As is DYRL. Meanwhile, SDFM, M7 TV and MF TV are in another timeline. Even though both M7 and MF take a lot from DYRL. But there is a canon thread, so I'll stop spamming off topic. The book is the VF-25 Masterfile by the way. The gameplay looks nice, the stream I was watching showed little of the story so far and I missed the beginning. The guy customized his VF with the 30th Sheryl-Ranka design, looked sweet. Spoiler for game story:
It would be nice if at least the characters in the game would become part of the continuity and get refferenced in future works.

Spoiler for game loadingscreens:
Will have to wait for more spoilers. A lot of people seem to like the new cast and I wish Chisuga had gotten more songs, the Planet Cradle single is as good as in the previews.

I'll try to answer this fast, my health has gotten a lot worse in a few hours, so if something doesn't make sense, blame the fact I had a total of 4 hours sleep.
Spoiler for answers:
