What Nayrael says is correct (you actually made me check that GreyZone). The healing works either way on the 5th day, Rin just gives a different reply. I think you're remembering something incorrectly here.

I don't see your point, well I DO. And I would still be arguing if I didn't remember HF. I honestly don't know if Shirou in HF still healed or not as I wasn't paying attention but I doubt he would :3

Avalon still has some limited effect when Saber isn't around, I think, but it's significantly reduced. Having a direct connection to her speeds it up, as does proximity. I think that, even with a contract, being close to her helps. It's just not essential.

If that's your point, then don't say it doesn't matter whether there is a connection or not, because you just agreed that a connection would work better.

Yeah, I did. Cos there's proof a connection would work better. Hence my question of if Shirou was healed by it in HF or not. And, my point is that it works better. Not that it won't work at all unless there is a connection

I never argued that it doesn't work when there's no connection. Fate, UBW and FZ are proof enough that the healing still works when you don't have the mana connection.

And it works in HF as well. Shirou was almost killed by Berserker like he was in Fate, remember?

I replayed the game recently and from what I remember, Shirou made it clear that without Saber as his servant, his regeneration was gone.

Yet it still seemed to work in UBW, when Saber was close to him if we can believe Archer.

Alter isn't generally close to Shirou in HF, though (I'm assuming that "inside Sakura" doesn't count...).

How did Avalon save Shirou at the end of F/Z then? Wasn't Saber already gone by then?

Some of her prana was left in Avalon. She has a lot of it ya'know :3
