My 3D models.
I've posted it pretty much everywhere else thusfar, so I'm posting them here too.
Sailor Saturn's Silence Glaive: http://fantasybecomesreality.redirec...laiveRough.jpg A room in a mansion (can't finish due to hardware limitations. Chandallier is a standin) http://fantasybecomesreality.redirec...allcandles.jpg A quick Caduceus I designed for an art project: http://fantasybecomesreality.redirec...20Caduceus.jpg A Zelda logo for a game idea I had...: http://fantasybecomesreality.redirec.../ZeldaBOSS.jpg My latest project and probably what I'm most proud of. Tochiro's Cosmo Dragoon: Serial # 4 from GE999" http://fantasybecomesreality.redirec...agoonfinal.jpg Any advice for improvement is welcome. I need to know which skills I should be concentrating on first and foremost. |

Those are pretty good. What are you using, Max, Maya, or something else? My Robotics team has an animation we do every year. And this year we are working on making our computer lab (our highschool's rather), and making a cluster to render. Because last year it took about 50 hours to render, so we're hoping by using 2 dozen P4's, that'll speed it up. Anyways, good job.

The models are pretty good (it'd be nice to see the mesh) it's the texturing that
needs some improving on. If you're not much into texturing it's best to leave the model or scene in monotone with different shades, like the example above. Bad textures can really ruin your delivery, while a nicely lit monotone looks very sohphisticated and professional...if that's what you're going for, anyway here's a good site to visit for inspiration and ideas regarding badass modeling, texturing, and what have you. Maybe you've already been there, but if not here you go: http://cgtalk.com/ |

I'm using 3Ds Max 6
and this was my reference for the Cosmo Dragoon model: http://www.interq.or.jp/itoh/hayato/...l_f/model6.htm Quote:
The mansion isn't finished so that's partially why the textures are off. Unfortunately I'm highly inefficient at modelling and it currently sits at 1.9 million Polygons, so my hardware doesn't allow me to do anything else really (I only have 256MB RAM which is my biggest problem). As par the Cosmo Dragoon and Zelda model, I was actually fairly pleased with the texturing and mats. I know I have a lot of work to do in that department though. I couldn't pull off some stuff nearly as well as I would have liked and the textures (though fairly accurate) were simplistic. I appreciate the input though. |
