Can't say i'm surprised. It's a show that would sell quite well.

I'd vote Johnny Yong Bosch as Sebastian Michaelis.

Hi, I'm new to this forum, and pretty new to both anime and manga. I am hoping some folks here and help give me a sanity check, because I'm pretty confused.

I have seen episodes 1-24 of the Kuroshitsuji anime and read up to ch. 39 of the manga (and skipped ahead to see how ch. 43 ends as well).

--Did Yana Toboso have any say in the characters and storyline of the anime? Cause it is way different than the manga.

--Does the manga go beyond ch. 43? In English? Anywhere? Cause I don't see a proper ending to the manga (not like the anime, which did kinda sorta "end")

Thanks!

Okay, thread's kinda dead I guess. I did just get a partial answer to my second question elsewhere. It seems like the story is still ongoing, at least in the serialized English version in Yen Plus. Does any one know if the Japanese storyline has concluded?

As stated Kuro manga is still ongoing, chap 44 was recently released. Dont quote me on this but I believe 9 times outta 10 the mangaka has little influence on what the studio does with the anime vers. So I doubt Toboso had any say in it. I do know she did the character design for season 2.

Hey so I noticed that this thread says "season 1" and the torrent says only 24 episodes http://www.animesuki.com/series.php/1302.html from 2008

As you guys can see here, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Butler#Anime there was a 12 episode 2nd season that aired from July-September 2010.

I can see people discussing in this thread "does the story continue?" and "there was more in the manga" well this may be the adaptation of it.

So: has the 2nd season also been licensed, or is that something that could be listed on animesuki?

FireChick announced the licensing in march, this means the license was purchased before season 2 aired in Japan. So I'm wondering if Funimation bought the license for season 2 yet?

Considering that season one LE sold out crazy fast and some people have been seeing screenshots from season two in the BB ads, I think that Funimation did get DVD and streaming rights. Also, I think AS doesn't torrent series that have even just a streaming-only license. Oh, hope this helps!
