DVD Writer help

I'm using a HP dvd writer dvd200i and...er....well....even though it says dvd writer, I can't burn any dvds! Everytime I placed a Dvd+R disc into my drive, it just went on undetected! I've already downloaded the latest firmware but its still no use! And another thing. Though it states there on my drive tt i m using a dvd200i dvd writer, my comp tells me tt i am using dvd200j and not i.......

then maybe your dvd burner is a dvd-r, not a dvd+r, there are 2 different formats, make sure your using the right one.

Search around on www.dvdrhelp.com

Seems your drive is picky about DVD brands. Other's have had the problem of their PC detecting it as a 200j, too.

Make usre it's DVD+R and not a -R. Ulead's DVD Workshop needs a patch to be able to write to DVD+R media. So if you're using that...

Got a +RW disc or a CD-R to try?
