On the other hand, there's more AU changes as well, seeing as Gabriel was instead out to destroy Alice, not UW. No idea why exactly, given Gabriel's obsession with Alice in SAO canon. Also, other AU changes include Kirito and Gabriel apparently was bogged down in a campaign that lasted years.

1. Actually, is the one in AW really Gabriel and how is it said as so? Some people said A and B are Gabriel/Kirito earlier in the thread but i believe that is a google translate fault that when a Russian social network vk's LN-related page upload that illustration, they said in russian for something like is that/look like/what if they are kirito or gabriel (I don't know russian but seem to be the case), but then someone google translated the page and google translate's result for that sentence was in definitive tone.

2. In SAO WN UW part, Gabriel want to own Alice for his personal enjoyment. Destroying Alice is probably the thing least wanted from him.

I suppose its nice to finally get some details as to what's really going on here. It was fairly obvious beforehand that there was a strong link between SAO's UW and Accel World (TFL being a dead giveaway).

But this does indeed sound like an alternate universe for SAO compared to what we know about the Alicization arc's ending in the Web Novel.

So what do you think is going to happen? Is the AW backstory really based on an alternate universe of SAO? Is Kawahara going to change the ending of the Alicization arc completely in order to tie into AW?

Or perhaps the AW backstory occurs AFTER the end of the Alicization arc? That prologue that Kawahara did at the end of the Web Novel may be the start of a new arc which becomes the AW backstory.

That's what I'm thinking right now at least.

*shrug* unless in this AU things butterfly'd so much that someone else came into UW before the divergence point of the Imperial Palace being created, going by current Alicization plot it has to be Gabriel, even if it seems OOC to what we know of him. I did say in my earlier posts there's no names mentioned (and from in-story POV, there's no reason why Edge will talk about Kirito and other names Crow and others won't recognize). Going by 'the most simple explanation is the right one', I'm taking 'A' to mean Gabriel unless there's explicit statement in the LNs otherwise. Or, alternatively, if we go by the premise Edge is Kirito's fluctlight copy, his memory might be edited / lacking compared to the real Kirito and there's other things going on.

The 'battle between two player armies' points to that specific point in Alicization though. And even without that given how Alice is a dead ringer to the Being mentioned in question (there is literally no other entity it could be barring Chaos Theory butterflies - the only other 'Being' that broke the Right Eye Seal was Ishukaan, and beyond the obvious that he's not a woman as depicted in the illustration in Vol19, he did it by gouging out his right eye as opposed to breaking it using sheer force of will that made Alice valuable) in this AU Alice never got out of UW, so the WEB end of Alicization arc is right out.

-Raker and Crow flew Lead out of Imperial Palace. After going through Suzaku so many time Crow decided if they don't beat Suzaku next time it'll have so much Hate it'll one-shot them Now as it is all three of them were in the red zone when they got out, even with Edge supporting them with ranged attacks.

-Afterwards, Raker left and Niko & Pard arrived to visit. They told Haru to call KYH over, and told them both about merging legions. KYH was surprised, but not as much as Haru is, as she suspected Niko would do this when Niko says she wants to go to their school next year. KYH agreed, and we get a (sappy) scene where KYH and Niko shakes hands. Then after that they argue about Niko's continued rights to come to come to Haru's place Further discussions between their legions will continue tomorrow.

-Then Haru told all 3 of them about what he heard from Edge. They point out a possible reason why Edge told Crow all this, as opposed to telling KYH and other Elements himself, was because Haru's easily awed and won't look too deeply. For example, when A was "defeated" did he just get logged out and was still out there, or was it like BB and his memories was erased? Or did A actually die in RL? Also, Edge never told them the specifics of the Being that's TFL.
KYH and others also suspect Edge told them all this is as a indirect way of advising KYH to stop going for Lv10. KYH is still going for it, along the lines of wanting to challenge the creator of that world. Niko says she'll help fight that creator as well.

-Edge confirmed as a Originator, if it hasn't been already. KYH and others also reason that everything he said isn't known to all Originators, otherwise given 100 players at the start the info would be more widespread.

-Taku met up with Haru after KYH and co left. They said they need to give a reply for the Student Council election.

-After that Haru went to sleep, and he 'dreamed' himself as being Crow at the Main Visualizer. If Highest Level is where you can see all breadth of Accel World, Main Visualizer is where you can see the truth/nature of that world. It turns out he's not quite there and this is a recreation of that scene, as Metatron in her 'human form' met him while his 'mental circuit' is resting. Metatron has been reinforcing her connection with Haru, with her end goal to be able to visit Haru in the lowest level / real world. (recap: Lowest Level = Real World, Middle Level = BB/VR, Highest Level to see all of middle level). Metatron also says she's wary of Edge, compared to her as one of the Four Saints he's more 'Something', what that something is Haru didn't hear.
Also, again we see Metatron usurping KYH's spot as main girl There's probably more intimate scenes between them than KYH did with Haru the last 5 volumes combined It's like Kawahara is doing his 'blonde new girl taking the main girl spot' all over again. Haru's more worried about Metatron meeting his mother than he did about KYH doing the same; when he first saw Metatron he tried to hug her, believing she recovered fully from sacrificing herself earlier - and while she rejected being embraced she didn't push him away In the end Metatron dragged Haru to use her lap as a pillow.

-When Haru woke up he was glad/sad that Metatron wasn't in the same bed as him Haru got ready for school and saw his mother came back from work, she normally works in stock exchange and due to time zones and when trading concludes she doesn't get back till 1am. Today was later than usual.

-Taku and Haru gave reply to Mayuu, they're in for the election. Mayuu calls themselves 'Team prominent', giving a explanation of that name. They still need to look for a 4th person for their team.

Also, Alice didn't die when this happened in SAO, so Metatron probably isn't going to die here. And she already got a 'death scene' once fighting for Haru, so I don't think it'll happen again

I went on reading the chapter myself, after reading, I personally believe it only copy the concept from UW, or at most taken things out of UW and madeup a new backstory for it, but not actually reference back to what happened in SAO's UW.

Chiyuri and Maiden and the rest of NN got informed of plans to merge with Prominence. Earlier in the volume Edge also told Haru about power in BB, that even if you can't beat something/someone alone you have allies, vs being able to do things yourself for that one situation where you can't back down no matter what and it has to be something you have to do yourself - Haru needs to decide what to use his Lv6 level up reward soon. Also, Edge asked Crow to pass on a message that he'll be waiting for Maiden to bust him out of Imperial Palace.

IMO, about characters I can't bring myself to care about. Ex Petit Paquet members went to find Magenta Scissors, found her and Avocado Avoider. Chocolate Puppeteer fought a battle and at the end asked them to join NN. Includes stuff about what they can do.

Ash, Utan and Olive wants to join NN, at least for the fight against White legion. The school term is also over for Haru and co.

Spoiler for Ch11 tidbits:

Magenta Scissors and Avo's backstory gets told, they join NN (well, Avo will as soon as he can leave the hospital or if someone goes to his district). TLer complains how Kawahara has been doing too much of the same thing in redeeming characters after a sob-story and they end up as love interests to someone. Magenta meets NN and allies IRL, Avo can't because he's hospitalized and has been for years.

Taku and Haru considers that they're only two guys in a legion where the other 10 member are girls, and they think they need more guys on the team. Crow picked Lucido Blade as his Lv6 reward, literally 'light blade' in name and according to previous info it's supposed to help Crow have better DPS.

Volume ends as NN as a whole sets out from Haru's place to meet Ash and others before they attack White Legion's home ground. Lotus will stay and protect their home ground, though it sounds like she'll be doing it alone out of NN members and the other 10+ people will be leading the attack. If KYH wasn't here since the beginning of the series I'd believe this as a death flag... then again Asuna was the main heroine and look where that got her during Fairy Dance arc >.> Just saying, if Kawahara wants to shift main love interest from KYH to Metatron he certainly have set it up so that KYH can be piled and eliminated
