Its weird I haven't been getting that worked up about this possible season two release. It could be that I've just gotten over the long waiting fact a long time ago or that I'm just entertained enough by Haruhi-chan right now that I won't be dissapointed by whatever is coming not being the fabled season two. Haruhi is still one of my all-time favorite shows, but I find myself not freaking out about announcements of new Haruhi goods as much as I used to. I usually just go "eh cool" and yet I still enjoy it as much as any die-hard fan. I guess in waiting for season two I've learned to not even care about the wait and just enjoy the show when it comes out.

Actually, by my understanding, Someday in the Rain was not only written by Tanigawa, but was eventually published in Sneaker late in 2006. It may not be in a novel, but it's official. At least as official as the referenced-in-the-novels Haruhi Theater stories...

Wait, half of that story is reliant on the visual medium and Kyon not being present.

I've gotta read this. It'd be interesting to see what he did...

I realize how totally unrelated this question will be:

How many of you guys here actually have a way to view Japanese cable and TV schedules??
Is it via internet, or TV???

Nonetheless, I'm hoping those rerun episodes will be uploaded on Youtube. Probably not...

Episode 1 is up on YouTube on the 15th. Probably subbed, but who knows?

You know I think now that it is 'airing', there really should be a new thread for it rather then this old clogged one.
Well in theory we could use the old episode threads...but the airing order will make it rather weird to track now with this one being both episode two (Kyon Order) and now one (Haruhi Order).

Most channels have their schedule online. There is also tv.yahoo.co.jp and all the other portals just like everywhere else.

http://www.haruhi.tv/schedule.html

Paste it into Google Search and hit the translate button. Gives all the airing times and dates.

Maybe have a nice Japenese friend record it and maybe translate it. It might just work!

I want to be optimistic and hope that episode 8 is new content. However, I don't want to face palm again .

For some reason I'm excited about it even though the potential new episodes will come out in two months, and I don't watch Japanese brodcast.

If this "rerun" has taught me anything, it's that 1080p is awesome, but 1080i...not so much... ^_^

Well, definitely looking forward to week 8 (if we get anything new then, that is), but it's not like there isn't anything to get excited about in the interim...

Fullmetal II premiers in what, an hour?

Considering that K-On is currently airing, I'd expect any possible new Haruhi episodes to follow after all the old episodes are re-aired.

Means nothing. KyoAni can easily produce a few new Haruhi episodes in between.

I think there are different teams working on K-On and Haruhi, as well?

Also, what would be the point in airing Melancholy I first if they weren't trying for a chronological order thing?

do they have commercials in between eps? if so, i'm pretty sure the company of the product being advertised pays money to have the commercial shown.
although, i dont know what part of the money actually goes to Kyoani.

I'm pretty sure the company of the advertised product pays the NETWORK to have its product shown, but I'm not sure.

Most of the money in anime is in DVD and merchandise sales anyway.
