Hmm... this episode a bit different from the manga and the original bits are good.
In the recollection bits, Uiharu says she's about to become a middle schooler, so that was only about a year ago? Looks like characters change a lot in a year... |

This is pretty much everything I could ask for in an anime episode. I have nothing else to say.
10/10 EDIT: OP/ED is totally awesome. I haven't felt such beautiful flow in anime ever since Nodame Cantabile, and maybe Clannad.

This is one of the few parts of the manga that I've been truly hoping to see animated, and it's nice to see that they pulled it off nice, and (most) of the anime-original additions were great too. I admit, part of the reason I've been a bit die-hard to see this part of the manga get animated is because I'm a bit of a Kuroko fanboy.
Anyways, disregarding most of the above, the episode itself was great. Now this is character buildup/focus. ..........but then they put in the "hapily run off into the sunset" at the end. Literally. That was hard on the eyes. I'm gonna have to mostly side with Aroduc again on this one, single line: "Cliches are not a checklist. Stop trying to hit all of them, dammit." 9/10. The only reason it gets less than 10 is because of the blatantly and horribly cliche ending shot. *cringe*

Well it was an alright episode. Did a nice of job showing the past of Kuroko and Uiharu. Was impressed that an episode focused on Kuroko could have her not swooning over Mikoto . Seriously though not a bad way to show how they've gotten to this point and the difficulties and dangers of that job.
Really I think it would satisfy people no matter how they feel about Kuroko. For those that like her there is the taking down of the criminals and the growth. Plus for those that don't there is her getting owned by that door. She really took some hard hits in this one. That guy didn't hold back with the foot stomp and then the hand. I guess that guy with the Equal Speed ability couldn't find good help. That was a pretty unstable nut he brought with him on the job. Certainly a much better villain than thick eyebrow girl. They manage to come up with interesting abilities. No doubt though that ending shot was pretty cheesy .

too much Kuroko, not enough Misaka. even though she did save the day... i really dislike the character type that tries to do more than they can. looks like this is the judgement arc of the story? i have no idea since i haven't read the manga.

Oi, oi, oi, plenty of "character development" (笑) in this episode, yet we have 3 "4"'s?
Satisfied with the episode. Though still... Kuroko-san... Your voice sounded like an old lady's since you were a little kid? And why didn't Kuroko just teleport the criminal outside? And Anti-skill really is slow... (-_-) But it was still fun. I really wonder how parents can let their children stay in a place that practically uses children as test marmots and turn them into human weapons, but hey, that would be completely denying the setting of the story, I guess...

Well, in the first place, Anti-skill was way too late. The alarm rang, so they should be on their way, so if she teleported him outside, they would be able to capture him and the people inside would be safe. Plus, because he is outside where anyone could get him, he couldn't easily take a person hostage. Anyways, safer than keeping him inside, I believe.

Well, I don't know about that. He would be potentially more dangerous outside than inside, where there are more people and lots more things that could go boom and such. And by letting him outside, it would be just as easy for him to take a hostage. It would actually be best to keep him confined in the bank than to let him out and potentially run around the city causing all kinds of problems and hurting a lot more people.

Yes I agree, she's really annoying, useless, voice too high pitched (though some woudl say Kuroko's is more annoying)... yet I don't "hate" her, just "dislike".
Anyway, about this episode, I thought it was pretty cool; giving us information about Kuroko and Uiharu's past... plenty of character development and they did manage to make the episode fun to watch. Well, that's for me, I don't know about you guys. And Kuroko was really cute as a kid!! I wish she kept that short pigtail hairstyle. Oh, Mikoto was cool as ever, even as a kid
