New Naruto Movie 4!

To start things off, the premise of the movie was stupid. Some seal got broken, the world is in danger, and now Naruto and friends must save the world, literally save the freaking world. In movie one at least a princess was captured, but no, they have to save the world now. Wonderful.

But that's pretty the only thing I really hate about the movie. What happened after that was pretty good actually. The truth about how Shion's "predictions" was really interesting and actually touching, unlike the other movies where Naruto somehow "tames" the movie lead for no good reason. The action scenes were good, even though I was quite disappointed at how the four villains retreated so quickly the first time around. I would have liked to see Neji fight with them a bit more. He seriously looked weak.

The best part of the movie was definitely Naruto shaking water from his hair, making Shion blush, and a bit later, Naruto got close to Shion, making her turn around in surprise. And then, the ending was really memorable and funny, both because of what Shion said and because Naruto probably had no clue what she meant. A movie/series that leaves a good last impression is always a good thing, since whatever bad things that happened in the middle might not have as much impact as it could have on the viewer. I thought that the movie as a whole was average, but I will definitely remember and I give props to Studio Pierrot for adding some non-Sasuke/Sakura, non-Naruto/Hinata romance to the story.

Yes, that mega superlicious let's-combine-all-our-energy level 9999 fully charged Rasengan was really bad. Don't mistake me; I really like how Shion didn't die. If she did, then it would've been really cliché. Naruto did the right thing to save her, but then I wish something else could've happen besides a Rasengan...anything. I don't care if Gaara suddenly shows up or if Kakashi/some other ninja suddenly appeared to help. Hell I don't even care if Naruto did a mass shadow clone combo attack, but that Rasengan was bad. I thought that the rainbow Rasengan was better anyhow.

In summary, the movie got some things right, some things wrong, but it's certainly not the worst thing I've ever seen, not even close. In short, here are the pros and cons:

Pros:
-Neji leading the team.
-Liquor candy.
-Good animation for the villains' techniques.
-Very little mention of Sasuke. None of "I HAVE TO LIVE SO I CAN SAVE SASUKE!!!! RASENGAN!!!"
-Shion didn't die.
-Romance, crude humor, introducing some adult themes into Naruto. Time didn't stand still unlike Pokémon.
-Good character development for Shion, which includes the prediction of Naruto dying.

Cons:
-What the hell is Tsunade doing? If the world is coming to an end, no one is going to attack the village, so why didn't you join the ranks?
-I don't think I've ever seen Sakura attack with medical ninjutsu.
-Neji...he was pretty much useless. Sure he used his brains, but I would have liked to see more of his techniques.
-Rasengan.
-Bad premise (Naruto must save the world).
-I would've liked to see other nations there, if the world is really ending. I think I saw Temari, but that was it.

Final Rating: 6/10, "Good

Oh a final note, since Rasengan was also known by Naruto in the first movie, and in the fourth movie it is still Naruto's best attack, then something need to happen in regards to pacing. I hope that he will have some new attacks soon.

Spoiler for My review of the movie:

Let's see if the Shippuden movie follows the Naruto movie checklist.
#The world is ending and only Naruto and NOT armies of ninjas can stop it. Check.

#Naruto and team must protect a very important person who's a spoiled brat. Check.

#Naruto goes off on a rant and forcefully pushes his life opinions on said client. Check.

#Naruto promises to protect the client, but either leaves them alone to get kidnapped, or goes off to fight leaving them open to attack. Check.

#The enemy ninja use some strange outside source to boost their powers, looking like freaks in the process. Check.

#Said enemies are super strong in the first encounter but are pushovers by th end of the movie. Check.

#The client who needs protecting suddenly throws away their hard held views on life because Naruto tell them to 'Believe in him'. Check.

#Naruto defeats the main bad guy with some weird version of the Rasengan. Check.

So all in all just another cliche, just post time skip Naruto movie.
But I did like Shion though, although things about her past and how her powers worked weren't explained very well. And the whole transformation into an uber angel was quite awesome.

And while I'm glad she lived, it would have also been interesting to see her sacrifice herself yet let it be known she was somewhere happy. It would have also broken the cliche of Naruto always saving people, more realism in the fact that Naruto can't save everyone, just like with Haku.

But what the hell was with the slow motion of Naruto shaking water out of his hair and Shion blushing?? SO...CORNY!! And how the movie ended was odd, but kinda funny. GIVE ME BABIES! Before the first date too.

In short I had no expectations from this movie, being based on Shippuden and thus I could not be disappointed. But I did like Lee's fight and Shion's resolve so it wasn't a total lost.

He has no clue or he just being slick about it, but we all know it is the former.

Lee getting the chills and Sakura turning red is classic ^^.


Movie was better than expencted and the ending was awesome .

Oh and on side note. I didn't like the movie. Seemed so.. well seemed like nothing new. Always seems like same amount of villains, I was surprised by not seeing mr. red chakra. There were some comedic areas of which I did not mind, but overall I was bored.

I thought because they said something about the training with Jiraiya I kept constant hope that Naruto will actually do something other than using a special rasengan like in EVERY movie, the next shippuuden movie with Naruto and Sasuke looks interesting hopefully we will see more moves on both parts

not really, if I was going to make a connection it would have been to hero, where the wanted to unite the kingoms and stop the war. had they developed his character it would have been more interesting.

That was indeed the CORNIEST part of the entire movie. It made me cringe, even. :frown:

This movie was like a fine over-extended filler however, I have to say that I absolutely flipped out when I read the last few sentences when this chick practically asks Naruto to bear her children OMG!! I thought we might see someone just say CHIDORI!!!!! Then we see Sasuke just charging through the stone people with his chidori, Naruto will be like 'Sasuke you're back!!!'

An enjoyable movie.

Nothing new so to speak, but the execution was seamless and well done. Animation quality was high as expected from a movie.

It was nice to see the combo chakra elemental moves by the enemy team to show off how cool it is to combine elements.

Okay, the movie was full of flaws and stupid things that may have anoyed certain people, but at least it contained allot of action and pew pew lazer thingys, so I'm pretty happy about it really, it wasn't THAT bad
